US-Israel-Iran War Latest Live News: Fresh explosions were reported in southern Iran, while continued Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon are affecting civilians and keeping thousands of people displaced. Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB reported multiple blasts near Bandar Abbas and Qeshm. At the same time, the UN refugee agency warned that ongoing attacks in southern Lebanon are preventing some displaced people from returning home and triggering new localised displacement.

Explosions Reported Near Bandar Abbas and Qeshm

Several explosions were heard east of Bandar Abbas, Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB reported. More than five explosions were also heard around the village of Masan on Qeshm Island.

IRIB further reported that four explosions were heard from the Strait of Hormuz area in Qeshm.

The cause of the explosions has not been confirmed. There has also been no immediate indication of what triggered the blasts.

What Happened in Qeshm? More Than 5 Blasts Heard

Residents in and around Qeshm reportedly heard multiple explosions. According to IRIB, more than five blasts were heard near Masan, followed by reports of four more explosions from the Strait of Hormuz area.

The reports come amid heightened tensions in the region. However, authorities have not confirmed whether the explosions were linked to an attack, military activity or another incident.

Further details are awaited from Iranian officials.

Bandar Abbas Explosions: No Casualties Reported

Iranian officials said there were no reported casualties or incidents so far following the explosions.

The deputy political, security and social affairs officer of Hormozgan governorate, where Bandar Abbas is located, confirmed that no casualties had been reported.

Bandar Abbas is a major Iranian port city and lies close to the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. Any major security incident in the area could attract international attention because of the waterway’s importance to global shipping and energy supplies.

Israel Attacks Southern Lebanon, UNHCR Warns of Displacement

Meanwhile, continued Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon are having a major impact on civilians, according to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

UNHCR spokesperson Babar Baloch said the attacks can prevent people from returning to their homes. In some cases, continued violence can also trigger localised displacement, forcing families to move again.

The situation remains particularly difficult for people who have already been displaced by the conflict.

Lebanon Displacement Crisis: Over 350,000 People Still Displaced

UNHCR said that more than 350,000 people remained displaced across Lebanon as of mid-August.

At the same time, approximately 860,000 people had returned to their communities of origin or nearby areas. However, UNHCR stressed that these should not automatically be viewed as durable returns.

Many returnees continue to face significant challenges because of insecurity and the wider impact of the conflict.

Israel-Lebanon Conflict: 23,000 People Remain in Shelters

Around 23,000 people remain in shelters across Lebanon, according to UNHCR.

The agency said it continues to monitor displacement trends and is working with partners to assist displaced people, returnees and host communities.

The latest developments in Iran and Lebanon come as regional tensions remain high. While no casualties have been reported from the explosions near Bandar Abbas so far, the situation around Qeshm and the Strait of Hormuz is being closely watched. At the same time, continued attacks in southern Lebanon are making it harder for displaced civilians to safely return to their homes.
