US-Israel-Iran War Latest Live News: The Iran-US conflict has entered another dangerous phase, with the battlefield stretching from Iranian oil routes in the Gulf to a US military base in Jordan. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Wednesday that it fired a major ballistic missile barrage at US forces stationed at the Al-Azraq area in Jordan, describing the operation as “devastating” and a direct response to recent US strikes on Iranian Oil tankers.

The claim came hours after the US military said it had destroyed five Iranian oil tankers following Iranian missile attacks on a US Navy warship. Jordan, a key US ally in the region, confirmed that its air-defence systems engaged 20 ballistic missiles and destroyed 18 of them. Two missiles landed in unpopulated areas, and Jordan reported no casualties.

The IRGC has claimed that its missile hit facilities linked to US fighter aircraft at the base. However, those claims have not been independently verified.

The IRGC said its latest operation involved a large number of ballistic missiles using both solid and liquid fuel. According to the Iranian force, the missiles targeted areas associated with the maintenance, preparation and deployment of US fighter aircraft.

“In this operation, aimed at punishing the aggressor, a significant number of ballistic missiles, both solid and liquid fuel, struck the maintenance, preparation, and deployment sites of F-35, F-16, and F-15 fighter jets, as well as their shelters, inflicting heavy damage on the enemy,” the IRGC said in a statement carried by Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency.

Iranian state and semi-official media presented the attack as retaliation for the US destruction of Iranian oil tankers.

The IRGC also separately claimed that hangars used to maintain and prepare F-35, F-16 and F-15 fighter jets had been struck.

There is no independent confirmation of the claimed damage at the US facilities. Jordan, however, confirmed the scale of the incoming missile attack and said its air defences intercepted most of the projectiles.

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Live News: Jordan Intercepts 18 of 20 Iranian Missiles

The attack put Jordan directly in the middle of the latest Iran-US escalation.

The Jordan Armed Forces said its air-defence systems engaged 20 ballistic missiles launched towards Jordan. Eighteen were intercepted and destroyed, while two fell in areas without residents. Authorities said no casualties had been recorded.

Videos circulating from Jordan showed missiles crossing the night sky and interceptions lighting up areas around Amman. Al Jazeera also reported that Jordan intercepted 18 of the 20 missiles, with no injuries reported.

Iranian media linked to the IRGC described the barrage as one of the largest missile attacks launched by Tehran since the 40-day war.

Iranian outlets also claimed that cluster munitions were used and identified the Muwaffaq al-Salti Air Base in Jordan’s Zarqa governorate as a target. Those claims have not been independently confirmed.

Syrian state television separately reported missile interceptions near Irbid, close to the Jordan-Syria border.

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Live News: US Destroys Five Iranian Oil Tankers

The latest Iranian attack followed a major US strike against Iranian-linked oil shipping.

US Central Command said American forces destroyed five Iranian oil tankers after Iran attempted to attack a US Navy warship with ballistic missiles on two occasions over two days. The US said its warship successfully avoided the attacks and that no American personnel were injured.

Four of the tankers were struck in the Gulf of Oman, while another was targeted near Kharg Island in the Persian Gulf, an important centre for Iran’s oil exports.

The tanker strikes have added another dangerous dimension to the conflict because they directly affect Iran’s oil trade and the wider security situation around the Strait of Hormuz.

The US has increasingly focused its military operations on Iranian maritime activity while maintaining escort operations for commercial shipping in the strategic waterway.

Tehran has also widened its warnings to commercial shipping.

The IRGC threatened oil tanker crews near ports in Bahrain and Kuwait and called on them to leave their vessels.

“We warn all crews aboard oil tankers in the vicinity of ports in Kuwait and Bahrain — which host these (American) terrorists and are partners in their hostile actions — to immediately leave their vessels, whether they are at anchor or docked at the ports, as the vessels will be targeted,” state broadcaster IRIB quoted the IRGC as saying.

Iranian media reported that one of the tankers targeted by the US was located roughly four miles from Kharg Island. Another tanker was reportedly hit near Jask, with crews using lifeboats to reach shore.

The latest attacks follow a US strike on an Iranian tanker near Kharg Island during the weekend.

The escalation has increased the risks for commercial shipping through the Gulf and surrounding waters. The Strait of Hormuz remains particularly sensitive because it is a major route for global energy shipments.

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Live News: Strait of Hormuz Becomes a Major Pressure Point

The latest military exchange is closely tied to the wider struggle over the Strait of Hormuz.

The US has been increasing pressure on Iran’s maritime and oil networks while trying to maintain routes for commercial vessels. Iran, meanwhile, has continued to threaten shipping connected to countries supporting the US.

The confrontation has already affected global energy markets. The possibility of further attacks on tankers or disruption around Hormuz has pushed traders to watch every military development closely.

The US strikes on Iranian tankers and Iran’s subsequent missile attack on Jordan show how quickly an incident at sea can trigger a wider military response across the region.

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Live News: Washington Expands Pressure on Iran’s Aviation Sector

The military escalation came alongside another major US move against Iran’s economy.

The Trump administration announced new sanctions targeting Iran’s aviation sector. The US Treasury said it was taking action against 27 Iranian airlines, along with companies and intermediaries accused of helping Iran’s aviation network and Mahan Air.

The Treasury also suspended certain aviation-related authorisations involving Iran. The measures target networks that Washington says help Iranian airlines obtain aircraft, aviation services and sensitive technology.

Reuters reported that the new action forms part of the Trump administration’s broader campaign to increase economic pressure on Tehran as the conflict continues.

The sanctions add an economic front to an already expanding military confrontation.

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Live News: Iran-US Conflict Risks Wider Regional Escalation

The latest sequence of events shows how the conflict is moving across several fronts at the same time.

The US has targeted Iranian oil tankers. Iran has responded with missile attacks toward US positions in Jordan. Tehran has also warned commercial shipping near Bahrain and Kuwait, while Washington has expanded sanctions against Iran’s aviation sector.

Jordan’s interception of most of the incoming missiles prevented a larger impact, but the attack demonstrated the risk faced by countries hosting US forces.

The immediate question now is whether the latest exchange remains limited or triggers another round of US and Iranian strikes.

With military operations, oil shipping and economic sanctions now closely linked, any further attack on US forces, Iranian tankers or commercial vessels could quickly push the conflict into another level of escalation.
