US-Israel-Iran War Latest Live News: Growing tensions between the US, Israel, and Iran are now increasingly becoming a part of the international energy sector with ongoing attacks in the Middle East causing concern regarding the ability of the oil supply to handle this mounting pressure.

According to the US Energy Secretary Chris Wright, the East-West oil pipeline of Saudi Arabia is expected to restart within the coming few days after its shutdown due to a drone attack. This pipeline is significant because it provides Saudi Arabia with a way of exporting oil without having to use the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Wright, Saudi authorities were redirecting their oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz with help from the US military. Attacks have also been characterized by Iran-sponsored proxies, though no claim was made regarding the drone attack on the pipeline and the East-West pipeline is considered to be insurance for Saudi Arabia. The short-term disruption of the pipeline shows how fast military developments in the region can turn into an issue in the energy market.

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Live News: Oil Prices Face Fresh Pressure

The price of oil has kept rising as a result of the speculation that there might be a long-term interruption in supplies. Oil futures have already crossed the psychological barrier of $100-per-barrel, owing to the increased anxiety about transport and production difficulties. This is because the Strait of Hormuz is a critical passage when it comes to the transportation of oil around the globe.

The energy crisis coincides with resurgent conflicts in Yemen as well. The Houthis have accused Saudi Arabia of conducting multiple airstrikes, while the internationally recognized government of Yemen has accused the Houthis of committing massacres and forced displacement of civilians amid their advance meanwhile, the Houthi authorities themselves have blamed the education institutions in Taiz for being targeted. These allegations illustrate the growing complexity of the conflicts, as Saudi-supported forces try to recapture lost territories.

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Live News: Violence Spreads Across Southern Lebanon

The dispute has now reached southern Lebanon. According to Lebanon’s state-owned National News Agency, there have been Israeli air strikes on al-Mansouri in the Tyre region and shellings in the area of Haddatha in Bint Jbeil. This highlights how the dispute has spread far beyond its primary theatre. Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq and even the Gulf have become theatres of this conflict, raising the possibility of escalation into a regional crisis.

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Live News: Iran Rejects Talks as Energy Stakes Rise

The security chief in Iran has stated that Iran is not going to hold talks with the US government until all their demands including the conditions set out in the memorandum of understanding in Islamabad, have been met. This situation does not provide much hope for diplomacy with a pipeline carrying oil destroyed, with maritime transportation being threatened and with fighting continuing from multiple fronts, there could be economic implications as well as military ones.

For governments and consumers around the world, the question now is whether the current disruption is temporary or lasting.
