The United States-Iran conflict escalated sharply on Tuesday after American forces carried out a fresh wave of attacks against targets linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). US President Donald Trump said the strikes targeted Iranian positions near the Strait of Hormuz, accusing Tehran of attempting to place sea mines in the strategic waterway and attacking American forces in Jordan.
Trump described the operation as a response to what he called Iranian aggression and warned that any further retaliation would trigger an even stronger US military response.

In a separate interview with Fox News, Trump said US forces had destroyed several Iranian radar systems, including equipment Tehran had reportedly attempted to restore.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the strikes began at around noon Eastern Time. According to CENTCOM, American forces targeted several categories of IRGC infrastructure, including:

The operation followed what Washington described as recent Iranian attempts to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and US personnel stationed in the region.
