US-Israel-Iran War Latest Live News: US President Donald Trump took to Truth Social during this week to assert that the US is winning in all fronts, even in its conflict with Iran, despite new Energy Department figures revealing the fact that the nation’s emergency oil stocks have been depleted to levels that haven’t been seen since the early 1980s.
US-Israel-Iran War Latest Live News: Trump Dismisses Polls, Claims Iran Is in ‘Death Spiral’
He referred to any unfavourable poll numbers as Democrat “Demoralization Operations,” aimed at keeping Republicans away from the polls. Instead, he pointed out that America’s national morale had never been higher and that the United States was “winning against EVERYONE, including Iran,” which he said was on a “Death Spiral.”
“The Radical Left Democrats are going CRAZY with Fake Polls. They’re putting them out at levels never seen before. They’re called, ‘Demoralization Operations,’ where they try to demoralize Republicans so that they don’t go out and vote — But the actual Polls are tremendous, and the Spirit in our Country has never been higher. We’re winning against EVERYONE, including Iran, whose Country is in Economic and Military Death Spiral,” Trump wrote.
Oil Reserve Falls to Lowest Level Since 1982
The figures reveal the reality behind the talk as stocks of crude oil in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve declined by around 3.7 million barrels to 289.7 million barrels up to August 21, representing the lowest level since December 1982, while the reserve is now holding stock equal to around 41% of its authorized capacity of 714 million barrels. This reduction in stocks stems from an agreement in March to release 172 million barrels to cover disruptions due to the Iran war.
Israel Escalates Strikes in Southern Lebanon
Far from Washington, the Israeli army bombarded regions around the villages of Ainatha and Haddatha in the Lebanese Bint Jbeil region, whereas a separate drone attack targeted the excavator that was clearing away debris from the previous attack, showing how the larger Middle East conflict is expanding beyond the borders of Iran.
In addition, an Israeli drone “exploded while flying over an excavator that was working to remove the rubble of a destroyed building”, added NNA.
Iran Presses Pakistan Over Broken US Commitments
Iran’s Speaker of Parliament and chief negotiator informed the head of Pakistan’s army that the Americans have committed a violation of the memorandum of understanding signed in June under the facilitation of Qatar and Pakistan. Sources also claim that US President Donald Trump had directly approached the army chief of Pakistan for helping resume talks with Iran.
Pakistan’s military chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, has held discussions with Iran’s chief negotiator and speaker of parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, in Tehran, according to Iran’s Mehr News Agency.
“The US, by breaching its commitments, prevented the establishment of stability in the region and created another reason for distrust,” Ghalibaf told Munir, according to Mehr.
Munir said he will continue his efforts to restore stability in the region.
US-Israel-Iran War Latest Live News: A War With No Clear Off-Ramp
Given the draining of strategic reserves, new strikes on Lebanon, and no progress in negotiations with Iran, it seems that the disconnect between President Trump’s victory talk and the cost of the war as both economic and military is growing instead of narrowing, making it even harder for mediators like Pakistan and Qatar.
