US Israel Iran War Latest News: Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei hit back at US President Donald Trump, who claimed that Tehran was “ready to fold up”. In response to Trump’s statement, Rezaei said the US could “win in its own imagination” while the real dynamics of the situation was determined by Iran.

Rezaei made the statement over the weekend while commenting on the latest Trump’s statements regarding the Iran war. In his post on his X account, Rezaei called Trump the “worst president in American history” and criticized the US president for making repeated statements about the approaching American victory. “After one failure after another, the worst president in American history just keeps talking-and talking-and now his words have even outrun his own fantasies.” “You can win every day in your own imagination. But reality is shaped by Iran-by its people, its soldiers, and its missiles,” he told Trump.

The developments follow the ongoing economic pressure from the US on Iran amid the stalled diplomatic talks between Washington and Tehran. The two sides still differ on a number of key issues, such as sanctions, Iran’s nuclear program and the issue of the Strait of Hormuz.

US Israel Iran War Latest News: What Did Trump Say About Iran?

The statements were made by the US president when he was addressing an audience at a Peterbilt Motors factory in Denton, Texas. According to him, Iran was ready to fold up, and he believed the US would win the war right after the election period.

He added that the war could even come to an end earlier than anticipated since the US had the capability to win “maybe before the election.” “I am making sure that Iran will be ended very soon,” said President Donald Trump.

He further explained that he expected the prices of energy to go down rapidly after the war comes to an end. He said that despite efforts by the US to be nice to the leaders of Iran currently, there is a lot of uncertainty as to who to make the negotiations with. “We don’t know who the hell to deal with to be honest with you. Nobody wants to be president,” Trump stated.

US Israel Iran War Latest News: Strait Of Hormuz Remains Major Dispute

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the most important issues in the confrontation between Washington and Tehran. The strategic waterway is a major route for global energy shipments and has faced severe disruption during the conflict.

The disagreement over the strait has also complicated diplomatic efforts. Tehran has sought changes to sanctions and other conditions as part of discussions aimed at ending the conflict, while Washington has rejected proposals that it considers insufficient. The continued disruption around the waterway has also affected global energy markets, making the conflict’s impact extend beyond the immediate region.

US Israel Iran War Latest News: US Steps Up Economic Pressure On Tehran

The latest clash between Trump and Rezaei is happening when the American government is still trying to limit access of Iran to international financial system and revenues from oil sales. The US administration has imposed sanctions on Iranian organizations and firms allegedly helping Iran’s economy and financing military operations of the country.

Meanwhile, diplomatic talks did not lead to any result. The parties cannot agree on the terms of the future deal, which includes sanctions lifting, Iran’s nuclear program and security in the region.

US Israel Iran War Latest News: Trump’s Top Security Officials Meet At Camp David

Trump’s top officials in the field of national security also gathered in Camp David on Friday to talk about Iran war and a different conflict between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis of Yemen, as reported by Axios, quoting three US officials.

Vice President JD Vance headed the discussion. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, White House envoy Steve Witkoff, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine were also present at the meeting.

Some decisions were made at the meeting while some were just “intensively discussed,” an unnamed US official revealed. The meeting was held as the Trump administration was contemplating their next move in the Iran war.

US Israel Iran War Latest News: Saudi-Houthi Conflict Adds To Regional Tensions

Things have been made even more difficult by increased tension between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis, who receive backing from Iran in Yemen. Saudi Arabia is currently making plans in preparation for launching a military campaign with the intention of driving the Houthi forces out of their positions in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait area. This strait links the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden and is very significant for maritime transport.

The US has helped provide intelligence support and other non-military services to the Saudis, but it has not joined the military campaign against the Houthis. This latest situation in Yemen has made the regional crisis even more complex for the US, which already has to deal with the conflict involving Iran as well as the disruption of energy and shipping routes.

At present, what Rezaei has to say indicates that the Iranians do not accept Trump’s portrayal of Iran as close to surrendering. For his part, Trump insists on saying that the US can solve this conflict without resorting to any military action on its part.
