US-Israel-Iran War Latest News: A new turn of events is currently underway in the US-Israel-Iran feud, as US President Donald Trump has announced that Iran has conceded to the “highest level” of international nuclear inspections, which is an agreement reached as part of the diplomatic process. It is important to note that Tehran has refuted these claims, thereby introducing new doubt about the delicate regional truce.

The news comes in the context of heightened tension within the Middle East region, despite the increased pace of diplomacy while Trump has noted that any breach of the agreement might cause a US naval blockade to resume operations at the crucial Strait of Hormuz, which accounts for nearly 20% of worldwide oil traffic.

Speaking via social media, Trump said that Iran has agreed to subject itself to international inspections regarding its nuclear program “for years to come.” The president referred to the inspections as being vital to maintaining what he described as “nuclear honesty.”

“Iran has fully and completely agreed to highest level Nuclear ‌inspections long ⁠into the ⁠future (Infinity!!!),” he wrote in a social media post. “This will insure ‘Nuclear Honesty.’ If they did not agree to this, there would be no further negotiations!”

According to the US President, the inspections would have been some of the most thorough that had ever been done, acting as one of the main pillars for the negotiation process going on between Washington and Tehran. On their side, however, the Iranians have been reported to have refuted the claims.

US President Donald Trump also declared that there would be no more US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz for now however, he stated that it was still an option. The strait is one of the key shipping lanes and is crucial for the global energy trade because about a fifth of the total global oil exports pass through it. If there is some kind of disruption to it, there might be repercussions in the energy market worldwide.

The two countries emphasised “their sovereignty and sovereign rights over their territorial waters in the Strait of Hormuz” and “agreed to maintain their dialogue on this issue through a joint working group between the two foreign ministries in order to reach agreement on the future administration of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the services that will be provided in this regard and the costs associated with them in accordance with international standards”.

Another important factor related to the negotiations concerns Iranian assets that are frozen abroad while the head of Iranian negotiations Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that the parties had agreed to unfreeze $12 billion worth of Iranian frozen assets. Tehran expects that it will have access to up to $24 billion in total within the framework of negotiations being conducted. According to President Trump, those funds could be used only for purchasing U.S. agricultural goods.

The fifth round of Lebanon-Israel negotiations under the sponsorship of the United States is currently taking place in Washington. President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun, referred to this new round of negotiations as a defining one while this is because of renewed claims about the violation of the ceasefire, following the reported shooting by Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon that led to the death of two people.

The figure jumped after the ministry added 17 new deaths over the past 24 hours. At least 12,171 Lebanese have also been wounded since Israel’s war restarted on March 2.

The Iranians have also released the official date for the funeral of the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei who died early this year at the beginning of the war.

According to state media, ceremonies will be held from July 4 through July 9, where the Iranian government estimates that 20 million people will turn up to mourn at various locations in Tehran and other cities while this will make the funeral ceremony one of the biggest gatherings in the history of Iran.
