UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer recently announced his country’s support for the ongoing peace talks between US and Iran and also urged for the ‘toll free navigation’ of Strait of Hormuz, a strategic maritime route in the Middle East.
“Attention must now turn to fully implementing the memorandum of understanding to ensure the Strait reopens and remains fully and permanently open and that the detailed elements of the nuclear agreement are finalised”, Starmer said via a post on microblogging platform X.
The post then mentioned that “We are clear that toll-free freedom of navigation must now be restored.”

US President Donald Trump provided a new update on the ongoing ceasefire talks, with Iran. He claimed that “The Deal with Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all!”, via a post on his social media platform Truth Social.
Trump then added that he had fully authorised the “immediate removal of the United States Naval Blockade”. The White House reposted his statement to its official account on X and captioned it with the statement’s opening two lines.
US-Israel-Iran War Latest News: Pakistan Shares Details of Peace Deal
Pakistan has played a key role in the mediation of the US-Israel-Iran War, which lasted over three months. And the country’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif shared that the peace deal between Washington and Tehran is “now in place”.
It also shared some details of the upcoming signing ceremony of the ceasefire. The formal signing ceremony will happen on 19th June, 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland.
JD Vance, the Vice President of US stated in an interview today “I think we can safely say, with confidence, that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon ,”.
He then added that Iran not possessing nuclear weapons is “just a great thing for the American people”. Vance also confirmed his plans to attend the upcoming signing ceremony in Geneva.

Authorities from Qatar, recently hailed the newly declared memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran, maintaining that it will always be a “steadfast supporter of these efforts and of all that promotes security and stability”.
Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani issued the statement via a post on X.
“We extend our thanks to our brothers in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and to all regional and international parties who contributed to creating the conditions for reaching this understanding”.
The post then went on to add that “We look forward to all parties engaging in the upcoming negotiations in a positive and constructive spirit, contributing to consolidating and building upon this progress”. Qatar played a key role in the ceasefire talks, along with Pakistan.
US-Israel-Iran War Latest News: Israel Continues to Target Lebanon
Following the newly declared memorandum of understanding, most aggression in West Asia stopped. However, Israel continues to conduct attacks on Lebanon.
Some of the key areas targeted included Dahiyeh, a densely populated neighbourhood in the capital city of Beirut and the border town of Majdal Zoun. According to reports, the affected areas are associated with the militant body Hezbollah.
And US President Donald Trump, allegedly lambasted Israel for the continued aggression and claimed that it was causing a delay in the peacefire talks. Israel has not released any comment on the new ceasefire deal.
