The attacks reportedly hit bridges, an airport, a communications tower and areas near Qeshm Island, while Iranian authorities confirmed casualties and damage to key transport links. The latest strikes come amid growing regional tensions, with US officials saying the operation aims to weaken Iran’s military capabilities and Tehran warning of possible retaliation.

The United States launched another wave of military strikes on Thursday, expanding its campaign against targets across southern Iran. According to US Central Command (CENTCOM), the operation was conducted to “further degrade Iranian military capabilities.”

Explosions were reported in several locations, including Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas, Bushehr, Ahvaz and Hormozgan Province, making it one of the widest attacks since the current escalation began.

Iranian media reported that US strikes hit two important bridges in Hormozgan Province.

The Kahurestan Bridge on the Bandar Abbas-Lar highway and the Girveh Bridge in the Bandar Khamir area were among the main targets. Officials said the bridges serve as key transportation links connecting southern Iranian cities.

According to Iranian authorities, emergency responders and security personnel quickly reached the affected areas to manage the situation.

Reports from Iranian media said two people were killed and four others were injured in the bridge attacks.

Iranian media also reported missile strikes on Iranshahr Airport in southeastern Iran. Witnesses reportedly heard several powerful explosions around the airport following the attack.

Another strike targeted a communications tower overlooking Bandar Abbas, leading to temporary power outages in parts of the city.

Medical officials said one person was killed and eight others were injured in a separate strike on the Tappeh Allah-o-Akbar area of Bandar Abbas. Most of the victims reportedly suffered blast-related injuries.

Authorities in Hormozgan Province confirmed additional strikes near Qeshm Island, one of Iran’s strategically important islands close to the Strait of Hormuz.

Officials did not immediately release details about the extent of damage, but emergency teams remained deployed throughout the region as rescue and assessment operations continued.

The US military said Thursday’s attacks marked the sixth consecutive night of operations against Iran.

The US Embassy in Baghdad also advised American citizens in Iraq to remain alert after a drone attack targeted Erbil earlier this week.
