US Israel Iran War Latest News: The United States carried out military strikes against Iran for the second consecutive day after a commercial oil tanker was attacked while passing through the Strait of Hormuz. In response, Iran launched a joint missile and drone operation targeting American military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain.

The latest military confrontation has raised fears of another major escalation in West Asia, even though both countries are currently engaged in negotiations under an interim agreement aimed at reaching a permanent peace deal.

US Israel Iran War Latest News: US Targets Iranian Military Sites

On Saturday, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that American warplanes carried out precision strikes on Iranian military infrastructure following an attack on a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to CENTCOM, the strikes targeted Iranian military assets, including surveillance infrastructure, communication systems, air defence positions, drone storage facilities, and minelayer capabilities. Later, the US military confirmed that a total of 10 military targets were hit across different locations in and around the strategic waterway. The command also released footage showing the military operation.

US officials said the attack was launched after Iranian forces allegedly used a one-way attack drone to strike the oil tanker Kiku, which was transporting more than two million barrels of crude oil through the Strait of Hormuz.

The US military stated that “Iran had a chance to honour the ceasefire agreement” but “elected not to” by attacking the commercial vessel.

The statement further added, “Commercial vessel transits through the Strait of Hormuz continue. US forces remain vigilant, lethal, and ready.”

US Israel Iran War Latest News: Trump Issues Strong Warning to Iran

US President Donald Trump strongly criticized Iran over the alleged ceasefire violation and warned of severe consequences if military operations were forced to resume.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “United States aircraft just struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations, and coastal radar sites, for violating the Cease Fire Agreement, AGAIN!”

He further warned, “There may come a point when we are no longer able to be reasonable, and will be forced to militarily complete the job that we very successfully started. If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist!”

US Israel Iran War Latest News: Iran Launches Retaliatory Strikes

Iran responded on Sunday by launching missile and drone attacks against US military installations in Kuwait and Bahrain. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the strikes were carried out in retaliation for the American attacks and warned that any future military action against Iran would receive a “crushing response”.

In its statement, the IRGC claimed it had “destroyed eight important US military facilities at the Ali al-Salem base in Kuwait and at the Fifth Fleet naval base in Port Salman in Bahrain”. The Guards also warned, “Any enemy aggression, whatever the pretext, even against insignificant targets… will have a crushing response.”

US Israel Iran War Latest News: Iran Warns Against Further Ceasefire Violations

Ibrahim al-Fiqar, the official military spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said Iran would respond forcefully to any future breach of the ceasefire.

He stated, “Any new aggression, regardless of its pretext or the scale of its objectives, will be met with a crushing response. Violating the ceasefire constitutes a breach of Article 1 of the Islamabad Understanding and will lead to a complete halt of all tracks. Under the Islamabad understanding, Iran will regulate maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. Violent vessels will be dealt with more firmly than before.”

Meanwhile, the IRGC Navy also warned that American military bases across West Asia would experience “hell” in the coming days if tensions continued to rise.

US Israel Iran War Latest News: US and Iran Continue Peace Negotiations

Despite the latest exchange of attacks, diplomatic talks between the United States and Iran are still underway.

Negotiators from both countries are working to finalize a broader peace agreement that includes guarantees for the safe movement of commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz. The discussions also cover the future of Iran’s nuclear programme and the management of its stockpile of highly enriched uranium.

Under the interim agreement, Washington and Tehran have been given 60 days to negotiate and finalize the terms of a comprehensive peace deal.
