US Israel Iran War Latest Update: A thick haze enveloped Tehran on Sunday morning following overnight strikes by Israeli warplanes on several oil facilities in the Iranian capital.

Residents complained of a pungent smell of burning in the air as fires continued to rage at fuel depots and refineries targeted in the attack by Israeli warplanes. Strikes by Israeli warplanes targeted five major oil facilities located south and west of Tehran.

Explosions generated massive fireballs and huge columns of black smoke rising into the sky. By morning, a thick smoke and dark clouds covered Tehran.

Authorities say the strikes damaged critical fuel infrastructure needed to power the city.

In addition to the smoke and fires, unusual rainfall has also been witnessed in some areas of Tehran following the bombing.

Polluted smoke rising from the fires caused by the bombing of the oil facilities has merged with the rain clouds, resulting in dark oily rain falling on some areas of the city.

A news Correspondent narrating the unusual rainfall witnessed in the Iranian capital city of Tehran said, “the rainwater is actually black… also saturated, it appears, with oil.”

Casualties Reported After Israeli Attack on Fuel Depots

The overnight strikes also caused casualties. According to the head of Iran’s national oil products distribution company, four people were killed during the attacks. The bombing mainly targeted fuel storage sites and refineries that are essential for supplying fuel to the capital.

The explosions triggered major fires at several locations, forcing emergency teams to respond overnight to control the flames.

Fuel Supply Disrupted Across Tehran

The damage to the facilities affected fuel distribution across the city.

Tehran’s governor, Mohammad Sadegh Motamedian, said fuel supply in the capital had been “temporarily interrupted" because parts of the distribution network were damaged.

“The problem is being resolved," he said, adding that repair work had already begun.

Authorities said teams are working to restore fuel supply as quickly as possible.

Israeli Military Confirms Airstrikes on Tehran Oil Sites

The Israeli military later confirmed that its air force carried out the strikes targeting fuel storage facilities in Tehran.

According to Israeli officials, the goal was to prevent these resources from being used by Iran’s military.

The attacks are part of the ongoing conflict involving Israel, United States, and Iran, which escalated on February 28 after joint U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iranian targets.

Netanyahu Vows to Continue Military Campaign Against Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said Israel will continue its campaign against Iran.

He recently vowed to dismantle Iran’s leadership following an earlier strike that reportedly killed Ali Khamenei.

The war has already caused heavy casualties across the region. Officials say at least 1,230 people have died in Iran, more than 300 in Lebanon, and around a dozen in Israel since the conflict began.

The situation remains tense as both sides continue military operations targeting strategic sites and infrastructure.
