US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: This morning, US and Iran signed a copy of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding in Versailles, France. Now, an Iranian negotiator has issued a stern warning about sticking to the commitments mentioned in the deal.
US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: Iran’s Full Warning
This morning, US President Donald Trump signed a ceasefire agreement with Iran at Versailles Palace in France. The agreement was also signed by Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian.
Now Esmaeil Baghaei, a spokesperson from the Iranian Foreign Affairs ministry has issued a stern warning for the US. According to him Tehran is monitoring that Washington fulfills all commitments ‘without any leniency’.
Baghaei also threatened that Iran will not fulfil any of its commitments if the US “evades its obligations”. He also warned that Iran’s controversial nuclear weapons program will be addressed in the 60 day negotiation window.
Trump previously claimed that Iran has agreed to not possess or acquire any nuclear weapons. “Iran has agreed to never have a Nuclear Weapon! Also, the story that the U.S. is paying Iran 300 million Dollars is Fake News, put out by the Dumocrats!!!”, one of his Truth Social posts from earlier this week read.
US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: Inside the 14 Point MoU
The MoU, formally called the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding is a detailed 14 point agreement. As part of the agreement, the US “undertakes with regional partners to develop a definitive, mutually agreed plan with at least USD 300 billion for the reconstruction and economic development” of Iran.
And Washington will also lift its naval blockade, which was imposed by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Iranian ports as well as parts of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. Both countries have agreed to stop attacking each other.
The US and Iran now have a 60 day window to establish a final ceasefire agreement and negotiate its terms.

Initially, the formal declaration of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding was scheduled to happen on 19th June, 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland. Now, many are wondering whether the signing ceremony in Geneva will still happen, now that the agreement has been signed.
According to Baghaei, “So far, our plans for the Geneva meeting have not changed”. The meeting will be attended by US Vice President JD Vance, along with representatives from Pakistan and Qatar, two of the main mediators.
On his part, Trump expressed nonchalance about the signing venue. “Just as long as they’re behaving, I really don’t care that much”, he said.

Currently, the Strait of Hormuz is partially open. Baghaei has now provided a reassuring update on the status of its opening and said that Iran is working together with Oman to oversee it.
The first course of action for Tehran and Muscat is to “develop a management mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz”. He also stated that they would “cooperate and consult with other regional countries wherever necessary.”
