US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: In a bold decision, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) has decided to restore its naval blockade on Iranian ports. Meanwhile the IRGC’s attack on a Kuwaiti naval vessel led to a bold statement from the monarchy’s defense ministry. 

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: Kuwaiti Defence Ministry Issues New Statement on Iranian Attacks

Over the last week, Iran struck Kuwait and Bahrain multiple times, which led to backlash from both countries. In a rare rebuke, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially condemned Iran’s acts of aggression at the UN Security Council and described them as a ‘blatant violation of international law’. 

However, Iran seems determined to carry on its attacks. And according to Kuwait’s foreign ministry, one of the attacks was against a vessel belonging to the Kuwaiti Naval Force. The attack led to 4 people getting injured, but no casualties have been reported so far. 

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: What’s Happening in Hormozgan Province? 

According to Iranian media, a series of explosions were heard in the coastal province of Hormozgan today after the American military conducted strikes. Some key targets included the seaport of Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island, Kish Island and Sirik.  

But according to the Hormozgan governorate as well as state news agency Mehr, there were no civilian casualties or damage to residential and commercial properties following the recent US strikes.Hormozgan in Southern Island is often considered to be an important province due to its strategic location near the Strait of Hormuz. 

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: CENTCOM’s Naval Blockade Back On? 

After the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, US President Donald Trump ordered the removal of the naval blockade, which was imposed on Iranian seaports. However, now the US Central Command (CENTCOM) has brought back its naval blockade and stated that there are “currently more than 20 US Navy warships and hundreds of military aircraft operating across the Middle East” via a post on X (formerly Twitter). The blockade will likely have an adverse impact on Iran’s maritime trade.      

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: Kazem Gharibabadi’s Bold Declaration 

Iran’s deputy foreign minister Kazem Gharibabadi has declared that the ceasefire between Tehran and Washington is officially over. Speaking in an interview state-run Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Gharibabadi also claimed that currently there are “no obligations” for either country.

“The core of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding concerned ending the war — an immediate and permanent cessation of the war and, in effect, of military operations against the Islamic Republic of Iran — as well as on all other fronts, including Lebanon”, he said.   

Gharibabad then blamed the US for the ceasefire collapse and claimed that it would be “unreasonable and baseless” to expect Iran to honour the MoU’s commitments. Washington has not reacted to his comments yet.

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: Is Strait of Hormuz Open or Closed? 

The Strait of the Hormuz has been a bone of contention throughout the war. So is the waterway open or closed? The US claims that it is keeping Hormuz open by sheer military force. However, Iran will likely close it again or impose a toll on all cargo shipping. But Abbas Araghchi has reassured that “We will be fair” and shared that it will be fairer than Trump’s now revoked idea of 20% toll.
