The deceased crew members were identified as deck cadet Aditya Sharma, engine fitter Shivanand Chaurasiya, and chief engineer Patnala Suresh.

Following the repeated strikes on Indian-linked vessels, India escalated the matter diplomatically. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) summoned the US Embassy’s Deputy Chief of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires Jason Meeks to lodge a strong protest regarding the situation.
