US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: US President Donald Trump has declared that the United States will accept no agreement with Iran unless it results in what he called “unconditional surrender.” His statement came a week after the US coordinated with Israel on military strikes against Tehran.
Trump shared the announcement on Truth Social, stating, “There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!”
He further emphasized that the US and its allies are prepared to assist Iran in rebuilding once the country surrenders and selects new leadership.
“After that, and the selection of a GREAT & ACCEPTABLE Leader(s), we, and many of our wonderful and very brave allies and partners, will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction,” Trump added, highlighting that these efforts will aim to strengthen Iran’s economy.
No Set Timeline for Ending the Conflict
President Trump has not specified a timeline for concluding military actions against Iran. In an interview with Time Magazine, he suggested that the US could achieve its goals within four to five weeks but insisted he is not operating under a strict deadline.
“I have no time limits on anything,” he said, adding, “I want to get it done.”
Trump Wants Influence Over Iran’s Next Supreme Leader
The recent strike that killed Ali Khamenei and several senior Iranian officials left the position of Supreme Leader vacant. Trump expressed a desire to be involved in the selection of the next Supreme Leader, saying he wants to play a role in the appointment process.
Israel Escalates Military Operations
Meanwhile, Israel expanded the conflict on Friday by targeting Beirut, Lebanon’s capital. Before the attack, Israel ordered residents to evacuate southern suburbs of the city, signaling a major escalation.
Israeli forces also launched new attacks inside Iran. Officials reported that approximately 50 warplanes struck a bunker beneath Khamenei’s destroyed compound in Tehran, which continued to be used by Iranian leaders even after his death.
Iran Signals Openness to Mediation
Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian indicated that some countries have begun mediation efforts to ease tensions. Posting on X (Twitter), he said, “Some countries have begun mediation efforts.”
He did not specify which countries were involved but emphasized Iran’s commitment to regional peace while warning that the nation would defend its dignity and authority.
“Let’s be clear: we are committed to lasting peace in the region, but we have not the slightest hesitation in defending the dignity and authority of our country. Mediation should address those who underestimated the Iranian people and ignited this conflict,” Pezeshkian added.
Iran’s Leadership Amid Khamenei’s Death
In Iran, the Supreme Leader is the highest authority, with the president operating under their guidance. Following Khamenei’s death, Pezeshkian joined a temporary panel that is currently carrying out the responsibilities of the Supreme Leader until a permanent successor is selected.
