Tensions between the United States, Israel, and Iran have escalated again after US President Donald Trump warned that fresh military action against Tehran could happen within days if ongoing negotiations fail.

Trump revealed that the US military was fully prepared for a major strike on Iran and was only “an hour away” from launching the attack before Gulf countries urged Washington to pause.

The latest remarks come amid stalled peace talks, growing concerns over Iran’s nuclear programme, and continued instability in the Strait of Hormuz. While diplomacy remains active, Trump’s comments suggest that the possibility of renewed conflict in West Asia remains extremely high.

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update

The geopolitical situation in West Asia remains tense as the United States and Israel continue increasing pressure on Iran over its nuclear programme and regional military influence. Despite ongoing diplomatic efforts, Washington and Tehran have still not reached a final peace agreement.

At the same time, fresh concerns have emerged after Donald Trump warned that the US could launch strikes on Iran within the next “two or three days” if negotiations fail. According to reports, Trump indicated that military action could happen “Friday or Saturday, early next week” if Tehran does not move quickly toward a deal.

Reports also suggest that the US military remains on high alert, while Iran continues to maintain strategic control around the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump Says US Was ‘An Hour Away’ From New Strikes On Iran

Donald Trump claimed that the United States had almost launched a fresh military assault on Iran before pausing the operation. According to Trump, the military was fully prepared and only waiting for final approval.

He said, “We were all set to go… it would have been happening right now.”

Trump also confirmed that the attack was delayed after requests from Gulf countries seeking more time for negotiations.

US to Strike Iran in Two or Three Days?

Trump suggested that military action could still happen very soon if Iran fails to reach an acceptable agreement with the United States.

According to Axios reporter Barak Ravid, Trump indicated that the timeline for possible action could be extremely short. Trump reportedly said the decision window could be “2-3 days, maybe Friday or Saturday, early next week. A limited period of time.”

The statement signals that Washington is maintaining strong military pressure while continuing diplomatic engagement simultaneously.

What Does ‘The Clock is Ticking’ Mean?

Trump recently warned that “the clock is ticking” for Iran to agree to a peace and nuclear deal with the United States. The phrase reflects increasing urgency from Washington, which believes negotiations cannot continue indefinitely.

The warning also indicates that the US administration sees military action as a real option if talks collapse. Analysts believe the phrase is intended to pressure Tehran into accepting limits on its nuclear activities before the situation escalates further.

What Did Donald Trump Say?

Trump repeated his hardline stance on Iran’s nuclear ambitions and said Iran cannot be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.

He stated, “I hope we don’t have to do the war, but we may have to give them another big hit… I’m not sure yet. You’ll know very soon.”

Trump also added, “There’s no question in my mind that they’d use it, there’s no question – and I deal with these people. They’re extremely radicalised.”

Trump Held Off Iran Attacks At The Request Of Gulf Countries

Trump said Gulf nations, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE, requested the US to delay military action to allow diplomatic efforts more time.

He explained, “We were getting ready to do a very major attack tomorrow. I have put off attacking Iran for a little while, hopefully forever, on the request of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE and some others.”

Regional leaders reportedly fear that another large-scale conflict could destabilise the entire Gulf region and impact global energy markets.

US-Iran Peace Deal: What’s the Update?

So far, diplomatic talks between Washington and Tehran have produced limited progress. Reports suggest that only one major round of talks has taken place since the ceasefire phase began, and no breakthrough agreement has emerged.

Iran continues to insist on several conditions linked to sanctions, regional security, and nuclear activity, while the US maintains pressure for stronger restrictions on Tehran’s nuclear programme.

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: What’s Next?

The coming days could become critical for the future of the conflict. Trump has made it clear that the US military remains fully prepared for large-scale action if diplomacy fails. At the same time, Gulf countries continue to push for negotiations to avoid another regional war.

With both military pressure and diplomacy unfolding simultaneously, the situation remains unpredictable, and any breakdown in talks could trigger rapid escalation across West Asia.
