US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: Iran-US Deal to Be Signed in 24 Hours as Pakistan PM Says

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that negotiations between Washington and Tehran have reached a critical stage. According to Sharif, both sides have agreed on a framework and are now working towards finalising the agreement.

He said the peace process has advanced significantly after weeks of diplomatic efforts and expressed optimism that the final document could be completed very soon while the announcement has raised hopes that one of the most serious conflicts in the Middle East this year may finally move toward a diplomatic resolution.

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: Strait of Hormuz at the Center of Global Attention

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most critical maritime chokepoints, with nearly 20% of global oil shipments passing through the narrow waterway every day with any disruption in the region has an immediate impact on crude oil prices, shipping costs and investor sentiment worldwide.

Trump’s statement on Truth Social suggested that the waterway would be “open to all” immediately after the agreement is signed while the announcement followed reports that Washington and Tehran were in the final stages of negotiations, with an electronic signing ceremony reportedly under consideration. Global markets are closely watching the situation, as reopening Hormuz without restrictions could reduce fears of supply disruptions that have repeatedly pushed oil prices higher throughout the conflict.

“The Deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN TO ALL,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social, signalling what could be a major diplomatic breakthrough after months of negotiations.

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: Frozen Iranian Assets Remain the Biggest Hurdle

Despite optimism surrounding the proposed agreement, Tehran has made it clear that access to its frozen overseas assets remains a non-negotiable demand. According to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei, the release of these funds is an integral component of any final settlement while estimates suggest that between $100 billion and $120 billion in Iranian assets remain frozen under international sanctions.

Economic analysts argue that releasing even part of these funds could significantly boost Iran’s financial position after years of economic pressure however, the issue remains politically sensitive in Washington, where sanctions have long been used as leverage against Tehran’s regional activities and nuclear ambitions.

“But that is arguably why the United States is very keen for Iran to not have access to these assets,” he said, noting that estimates put the frozen funds at about $100-120bn.
