US-Israel-Iran War Live News: US President Donald Trump is looking beyond the current Iran war and preparing a wider Middle East war that could reshape Washington’s alliances and diplomatic priorities after the war.

The emerging plan reportedly aims to contain Iran through a stronger regional alignment while also pushing ahead with efforts involving Gaza, Syria, Lebanon and Israel’s ties with Arab countries.

The strategy remains at an early stage, but Trump has privately described the effort as “something much bigger” for the Middle East, according to an Axios report. Senior administration officials have already discussed the proposal in meetings, while multiple US agencies are working on different parts of the framework.

Trump’s administration is reportedly preparing a post-war blueprint that goes beyond the immediate question of how to end the conflict with Iran.

According to Axios, the plan could guide US policy in the Middle East for the remainder of Trump’s term. Officials are considering ways to bring American allies closer together, reduce other regional conflicts and expand diplomatic relations between Israel and its neighbours.

The proposal could effectively connect several issues that Washington has traditionally handled separately.

Iran would remain at the centre of the strategy, but the administration also wants to address the fallout from the October 7, 2023 attacks, the Gaza conflict, tensions involving Syria and Lebanon, and the stalled effort to establish diplomatic relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia.

US-Israel-Iran War Live News: Trump’s Post-Iran War Strategy To Go Beyond Military Containment

The emerging strategy could shift the US approach from fighting Iran to building a longer-term regional structure designed to limit Tehran’s influence.

One proposal involves bringing US partners in the Middle East into a closer security arrangement. Washington could potentially act as the security guarantor while regional countries cooperate to contain a post-war Iran.

But Trump’s team is also looking at diplomatic issues outside Iran. The plan reportedly includes efforts to move the next phase of Trump’s Gaza strategy forward, negotiate a security arrangement between Israel and Syria and implement the existing Israel-Lebanon framework.

That would give the administration a much broader agenda once the fighting with Iran ends.

US-Israel-Iran War Live News: Three Key Priorities Emerging From Trump’s Middle East Plan

Three major priorities have emerged from the discussions around Trump’s proposed strategy.

First, Washington wants a stronger regional alignment against Iran. The US could coordinate its regional partners through a framework designed to deter Tehran and reduce its ability to rebuild its military and regional influence.

Second, the administration wants to address conflicts that followed the October 7 attacks. That could include the next phase of Trump’s Gaza plan, a possible Israel-Syria security agreement and further implementation of the Israel-Lebanon agreement.

Third, Trump wants to expand the Abraham Accords. The biggest potential diplomatic breakthrough would involve Saudi Arabia establishing normal relations with Israel.

US-Israel-Iran War Live News: Saudi Arabia to Become a Key Part of Trump’s New Middle East Framework?

Saudi Arabia could become one of the most important pieces of Trump’s proposed post-war strategy.

Washington has long sought stronger relations between Riyadh and Jerusalem, but the issue became more difficult after the Gaza war. Saudi Arabia has demanded meaningful progress toward Palestinian statehood, while Israel’s political leadership has resisted such a pathway.

If Trump can overcome that divide, a Saudi-Israel normalisation agreement could become the centrepiece of his new Middle East policy. It would also strengthen the wider Abraham Accords, which already created diplomatic relations between Israel and several Arab states.

US-Israel-Iran War Live News: Trump’s Middle East Blueprint is Still Not Final

Despite the ambitious ideas being discussed, Trump does not yet have a completed Middle East blueprint.

The administration is still developing the strategy at both senior political levels and across government agencies. Trump has also held at least two meetings with senior advisers where officials discussed different parts of the proposal.

A source briefed on the process said officials could need several more weeks to complete the plan. “They are cooking it, but it is not yet cooked,” the source said.

“The idea is to tie a whole lot of things in the region together – how you create a regional alignment after the war. It is still unclear if all US allies in the region will be on board,” the person added. The upcoming political calendar could also influence the strategy.

US-Israel-Iran War Live News: What to Expect Next?

The immediate priority for Washington remains the Iran conflict, but Trump is already preparing for what comes after it.

The US continues to apply military and economic pressure on Tehran. AP reported that Washington has combined intermittent military strikes with an economic campaign aimed at restricting Iran’s remaining international trade.

The conflict has also created pressure around the Strait of Hormuz, where disruptions have affected energy shipments and pushed oil prices higher. Reuters reported that Iran faces growing economic pressure as the US blockade has sharply reduced its oil exports.

That makes the outcome of the war crucial for Trump’s wider plans.
