US-Israel-Iran War Live Updates: The United Arab Emirates has decided to fast-track a major oil pipeline project as regional tensions linked to the Iran-US-Israel conflict continue to threaten global energy supplies. The move aims to strengthen the country’s ability to export crude oil without depending heavily on the strategically sensitive Strait of Hormuz.

According to reports, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan directed the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to accelerate construction work on the West-East Pipeline project during a high-level executive meeting held on Friday.

The project is expected to significantly boost the UAE’s crude oil export infrastructure and improve energy security amid growing instability in the Gulf region.

US-Israel-Iran War Live Updates: What is the UAE’s West-East Pipeline Project?

The West-East Pipeline project is a large-scale oil transport corridor currently under development by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, commonly known as ADNOC.

The pipeline will allow the UAE to transport larger volumes of crude oil directly to Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman, helping bypass the Strait of Hormuz — one of the world’s most critical and vulnerable oil shipping routes.

ADNOC said the new pipeline is expected to become operational by 2027.

The UAE already operates the Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline (ADCOP), also known as the Habshan-Fujairah pipeline, which can carry up to 1.8 million barrels of oil per day directly to Fujairah.

This infrastructure currently allows the UAE to export part of its crude shipments without passing through Hormuz.

Why the Strait of Hormuz Matters Globally?

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most strategically important energy corridors. Located between Iran and Oman, the narrow waterway handles nearly one-fifth of global oil shipments under normal conditions.

Any disruption in the region immediately impacts international energy markets and global crude oil prices. The latest tensions linked to the Iran-US-Israel conflict have raised concerns over the security of oil shipments passing through the Strait of Hormuz, forcing Gulf nations to strengthen alternative export routes.

Reports suggest the route has remained heavily disrupted following Iran’s response to the ongoing US-Israeli military campaign earlier this year.

UAE and Saudi Arabia Hold Strategic Advantage

The UAE and Saudi Arabia currently remain the only Gulf nations with major infrastructure capable of exporting crude oil outside the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, Oman also benefits from direct access to the Gulf of Oman through its coastline.

In comparison, countries such as Kuwait, Iraq, Qatar and Bahrain continue to depend heavily on Hormuz for oil exports, making them more vulnerable to regional instability.

The UAE’s latest pipeline expansion, therefore, carries significant strategic and economic importance at a time of growing geopolitical uncertainty.

US-Israel-Iran War Live Updates: Global Energy Markets Remain Under Pressure

The ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel has continued to create volatility across international oil and gas markets.

Investors and governments worldwide are closely monitoring developments in the Gulf region because any prolonged disruption around Hormuz could sharply affect fuel supplies and energy prices globally.

The UAE’s decision to accelerate its pipeline project reflects broader concerns among Gulf countries about protecting long-term energy exports and reducing dependence on high-risk maritime routes.
