JERUSALEM: Two Palestinians have died from injuries sustained in an Israeli settler attack in Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. They were the latest fatalities in a string of deadly attacks on Palestinians carried out by settlers on occupied Palestinian land as wider Middle East conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran ratchets up. According to Palestinian officials, three Palestinians were initially wounded during the attack in the town of Deir Jarir. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its medical teams treated one victim who suffered a serious abdominal injury caused by the assault.

Local sources told the Wafa news agency that Israeli forces fired at an ambulance while it was transporting one of the injured Palestinians to a hospital. The incident has intensified concerns among Palestinian officials and residents over rising violence in the Ramallah and el-Bireh governorate areas.

The attack comes amid a reported surge in settler violence across the West Bank, with Palestinians reporting incidents involving physical assaults, live fire, arson attacks, and damage to farmland. Palestinian sources say many of these incidents take place in areas where Israeli forces are present.
