US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: Israel Intensifies Military Operations Against Hezbollah

Israel has increased military activity in southern Lebanon as clashes with the Iran-backed Hezbollah group continue. The escalation has persisted even after the April 17 ceasefire agreement that was intended to stop hostilities between both sides.

Lebanese health authorities said more than 2,800 people have died since Lebanon became involved in the broader Middle East conflict on March 2. Lebanese leaders have also urged the US ambassador in Beirut to pressure Israel into halting attacks during the ceasefire period. Israel, however, has claimed that it has also faced attacks during the truce.

The Israeli military confirmed over the weekend that one soldier was killed during clashes near the Lebanon border. US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: US-Iran Tensions Deepen as Ceasefire Talks Stall

The confrontation between the United States and Iran has entered a critical phase, with military escalation, diplomatic setbacks and tensions in the Strait of Hormuz dominating international attention. US President Donald Trump rejected Iran’s latest ceasefire response, which was reportedly sent through Pakistani mediators, calling it “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!” He also warned that Washington could restart large-scale military operations if negotiations completely collapse. Iran has reportedly demanded a wider regional settlement that includes ending the conflict in Lebanon and ensuring maritime security guarantees. However, diplomatic efforts now appear to have stalled.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most strategically important energy routes. Recent reports of drone strikes, ship fires and maritime security threats have raised concerns over global oil supplies and international shipping operations.

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: Iran Nuclear Programme Remains Major Obstacle in Negotiations

Iran’s nuclear programme continues to be one of the biggest sticking points in international negotiations. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) recently stated that Iran has accumulated highly enriched uranium nearing weapons-grade purity. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the war cannot truly end unless Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile is removed from the country. Iran, however, has insisted that its military is fully prepared to defend nuclear facilities against any attack or infiltration attempt.

US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: Russia, France and Britain Step Deeper Into Gulf Crisis

Global powers are also becoming increasingly involved in the crisis. Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow’s proposal to relocate Iran’s enriched uranium remains available. Meanwhile, France and Britain are discussing maritime security measures for the Gulf region once tensions ease. Iran has warned that any foreign military involvement in the Strait of Hormuz would face a strong response.
