The Primary Election taken place on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, with polls open across the state from 7 AM to 8 PM local time. Millions of registered Democrats and Republicans are expected to vote in one of the most closely watched primary elections in the United States this year.

A primary election is the process through which political parties select candidates for the general election. Trump Tightens Grip on Republican Primaries

In Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District, former Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein defeated incumbent Congressman Thomas Massie by securing 54.9% of the vote against Massie’s 45.1%. Georgia House Primary Election Results 2026

In the Republican Senate primary, Congressman Mike Collins led with 40.4% of votes, while Derek Dooley followed with 30.2% since neither candidate crossed the majority threshold, the race is headed toward a runoff. Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms secured a commanding Democratic gubernatorial victory with 56.2% support while on the Republican side, Lt. Gov. Burt Jones led with 38.3%, followed by businessman Rick Jackson at 32.5%.
