Iran has aggressively rejected US President Donald Trump’s latest ultimatum and warnings, declaring his high-pressure tactics entirely “unacceptable.” The Islamic Republic, in response to Trump, has signalled that its military is braced for a full-scale confrontation.
The defiant response from Tehran sets up an explosive diplomatic standoff as a tenuous regional truce to end the war threatens to collapse entirely.
“Our preparedness is effective right now at more than 100 per cent,” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated in an official briefing carried by state media networks.
Araghchi emphasised that Tehran is matching Washington’s escalatory language with equal resolve, warning that Iran is fully prepared for any form of military escalation, whether within its own sovereign territory or across the vital Strait of Hormuz shipping lanes.
Iranian foreign minister insisted that the United States must abandon its aggressive posturing and engage with Iran strictly on the basis of “mutual respect.”
Trump Issues a Furious Truth Social Ultimatum
The fiery rhetoric from Tehran comes directly in response to a stark, blunt message issued by US President Trump on Sunday. Taking to his social media network, Truth Social, the American commander-in-chief warned the Islamic Republic that his patience had officially expired.
“For Iran, the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!” Trump wrote, signalling an abrupt end to Washington’s willingness to tolerate delayed negotiations.
The White House’s sudden verbal offensive followed the publication of a rigid five-point American peace proposal. According to a report from the IRGC-affiliated Fars News Agency, Washington is demanding that Iran transfer 400 kilograms of its enriched uranium stockpile out of the country and forfeit all claims to war compensation, terms that Iranian diplomats have repeatedly blasted as an attempt to force an unconditional surrender.
Strait of Hormuz Escalation Threatens Global Trade
The renewed threats have immediately sparked panic, worsening the global energy market volatility. While a Pakistani-mediated ceasefire previously opened the Strait of Hormuz to commercial transit, Qatar’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, urgently called Foreign Minister Araghchi on Sunday to warn against using the waterway as a “bargaining chip.”
According to diplomatic sources, Qatar reiterated that the freedom of navigation is a non-negotiable global principle. However, Iranian military officials have signalled that their forces are ready to snap the naval blockade back into place if Trump follows through on his promises of military action.
Despite Trump’s previous claims that American forces had severely degraded Iran’s conventional naval assets, Araghchi countered that domestic unity and coordinated military structures remain completely intact.
Tehran maintained that any renewed US aggression will be met with devastating counter-strikes targeting American strategic infrastructure across the Gulf, adding that the Islamic Republic will not bow to Washington’s timeline.
