Residents have been urgently evacuated from their homes after a gas leak in the West End in London. A rest centre has also been established, as around 40 residents had to leave their homes due to gas leakage.
However, a 50-metre police cordon was placed after the firefighters were called to Stacey Street near the junction of Shaftesbury Avenue.

The London Fire Brigade were first called to the scene at 1:31 PM on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Three fire engines and two command units from Soho, Euston, Bethnal Green and Dowgate fire stations are also at the scene.
