Nancy Guthrie Case: The case of Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance has just taken a drastic turn with the release of new images by the FBI of a masked man lurking around her residence. Speculation on social media sites has erupted with claims of who the man in the image is and some of the most popular names that have come up include Dominic Evans, a musician who is indirectly connected to Guthrie’s family.
Dominic Evans is known to be part of Early Black as their drummer and there is no known record of him with authorities regarding any criminal activities. He does not seem to be named as a suspect in relation to the disappearance of Guthrie. Beyond his professional affiliation with Tommaso Cioni, who is married into the family of Guthrie, there is insufficient evidence to substantiate his presence or involvement in the incident.
No law enforcement agency mentioned this masked individual as Dominic Evans. The released video appears to capture an individual with gloves, a face cover and a backpack. His face is only partially visible. From his appearance, he appears to be an individual who interferes with Guthrie’s doorbell camera while some commenters suggest some possible similarities with the individual, experts claim that one cannot identify an individual from such a grainy video.
FBI Director Kash Patel has shared four images and two videos on X, describing them as materials not yet recovered with apparently, the subject appears to be armed in the images, as the individual in the video seems to be wearing a gun. Additional information already hints at the fact that it is not the purpose of the images and videos to reveal the identity of the individual.

Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost,… pic.twitter.com/z5WLgPtZpT
From the various social media postings, it seems that the individual’s appearance, wearing a mask, presents some resemblance to Evans build and facial hair. This, however based solely on profiling and mere side-by-side comparisons of the photographs, which have not been verified or confirmed. The law enforcement officials involved in this case have already warned that no individual has actually been identified as the culprit and the spreading of these accusations will harm many innocent people.
Tommaso Cioni, Guthrie’s son-in-law, has gotten much online discussion while no one in law enforcement has labeled Tommaso Cioni a suspect or a person of interest. The one confirmed link to Tommaso Cioni is his familial connections with any alleged connections involving Cioni, Evans and the masked person are unconfirmed and have no basis in confirmed police results.
Investigators say the doorbell camera outside Guthrie's home was disabled at 1:47 a.m. the morning she vanished approximately 41 minutes later, her pacemaker lost its Bluetooth connection to her phone, an indication she was taken from the residence. The FBI and Pima County Sheriff's Office were able to recover the footage from residual data after first attempts turned up nothing. A $50,000 reward is being offered, and authorities claim the video is the best lead so far while ransom notes have been sent to media outlets, investigators are not confirming whether they are authentic.
