US President Donald Trump announced his intention to nominate Todd Blanche for the post of US attorney general at the White House’s Rose garden event that happened on Wednesday. In the video, Trump said “He’s acting attorney general. Tomorrow I’m instructing Dan and everybody else that’s involved in that very complicated process, which is going to be, I think, very quickly, that we are going to make him permanent attorney general”.
The video was posted by Dan Scavino, the Deputy Chief of Staff at the White House on microblogging platform X. Previously, Pam Bondi served in the role from 4th February, 2025 to 2nd April 2026. In April, she was fired by Trump, without any official reason but many experts believe that it was due to her botched handling of the Epstein files.
