Bangladesh is going through a difficult period as violence continues to rise across the country. At a time when the nation is already facing criticism for the lynching of a Hindu man, Dipu Chandra Das, reports have now confirmed that another Hindu youth has been killed.

A 40-year-old Hindu man named Bajendra Biswas was shot dead by a co-worker in Bhaluka upazila in Mymensingh district. The accused, Noman Mia, has been arrested by the police.

Who Was Bajendra Biswas?

Bajendra Biswas was a 40-year-old Hindu man living in Bhaluka area of Mymensingh district in Bangladesh. According to local reports, he was working at a private workplace where the shooting took place.

He was allegedly shot by one of his colleagues, Noman Mia, following a dispute. The exact reason behind the attack is still being investigated by the police. After the shooting, Bajendra Biswas was rushed for help but died immediately due to his injuries.

The incident has added to growing fears among minority communities, especially Hindus, amid rising violence in different parts of Bangladesh.

India Strongly Condemns Attacks on Minorities

India has earlier made it clear that repeated attacks on religious minorities in Bangladesh are a serious issue. The Ministry of External Affairs said the violence against Hindus, Christians and Buddhists is deeply troubling.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, "The unremitting hostilities against the minorities in Bangladesh including Hindus, Christians and Buddhists at the hands of extremists is a matter of grave concern."

He also strongly condemned the killing of Dipu Chandra Das, saying, "We condemn the recent gruesome killing of a Hindu youth in Bangladesh and expect that the perpetrators of the crime would be brought to justice."

Mob Killing in Rajbari Adds to Tension

Another Hindu man, Amrit Mondal alias Samrat, was also killed by a mob in Rajbari town on last Wednesday night. This further increased worries about the safety of minorities.

However, the Bangladesh government claimed Mondal was involved in serious crimes like murder and extortion and said the incident was not a communal attack.

Jaiswal, while reacting to the case, linked it to the worsening security situation and growing hostility towards minorities in the country.

Political Unrest Worsens the Situation in Bangladesh

Bangladesh has been facing fresh unrest since the killing of Sharif Osman Hadi, a youth leader who was linked to last year’s mass protests that led to the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government.

His death has added to tensions between India and Bangladesh. Some groups in Bangladesh tried to blame India for the incident, but New Delhi firmly rejected these claims.

Jaiswal said, "We have rejected the false narrative that has been projected in Bangladesh. The law and order situation and developments happening there is the responsibility of the government of Bangladesh. To portray a narrative where things go in another direction is completely false and we reject that."

India Calls for Protection of Minorities

Relations between India and Bangladesh have been uneasy since an interim government led by Muhammad Yunus took over. India has said it wants peace and stability in Bangladesh and remains committed to strong ties with its people.

At the same time, New Delhi has urged the Bangladeshi authorities to take firm steps to protect minorities as violence continues to rise.
