On Saturday, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left for China on a four-day official visit from May 23 to May 26. The main purpose of this visit is to strengthen relations between Pakistan and China and celebrate 75 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries. The key focus of the visit will be on increasing cooperation between Pakistani and Chinese companies under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Apart from Sharif, several senior Pakistani officials will also accompany him during the visit, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
Pakistan PM’s China Visit: Meetings and Business Cooperation
During his visit to Hangzhou, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet the Party Secretary of Zhejiang Province and attend a business forum where Pakistani and Chinese companies will discuss future partnerships and investment opportunities. He will also participate in a ceremony where agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) will be exchanged between the two countries.
The Prime Minister is also expected to meet the CEOs of major Chinese companies and visit the headquarters of Alibaba. More cooperation agreements are likely to be signed during these meetings, especially in the business, technology, and development sectors.
Sharif’s Visit to Beijing and China’s Message
After completing his visit to Hangzhou, Shehbaz Sharif will travel to Beijing, where he will hold important meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chinese Premier Li Qiang. He will also attend a special event celebrating 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. In addition, he will meet leaders of major Chinese companies and visit the China Academy of Agricultural Sciences to discuss cooperation in agriculture and research.
China’s Foreign Ministry described the visit as an important exchange between the two countries. Chinese officials said they hope the visit will help both nations continue their long-standing friendship, increase cooperation in different sectors, and build a stronger partnership for the future.
