A man whose body was found inside a suitcase at a park in Kent during a children’s teddy bear hunt has been identified as 34 year old Dale Mundell from Islington, North London. Police have charged two men in connection with the case as the murder investigation continues.

Dale Mundell was a 34 year old resident of Islington, North London. His identity was confirmed after his body was discovered inside a suitcase abandoned at Borstal Recreation Ground in Rochester, Kent. His family is being supported by specially trained police officers.
How Was The Body Discovered?
The suitcase was found during a teddy bear hunt organised as a fundraiser for a local nursery. A woman attending the event said she noticed the suitcase because it was covered in hundreds of flies and could hear loud buzzing before police arrived. She also said a snow sledge was lying next to the suitcase.
The Metropolitan Police launched an investigation after receiving reports of a possible murder at a property in Kingfisher Court, Wimbledon, on the night of July 9. Although nobody was found inside the flat, officers discovered evidence suggesting someone had suffered serious injuries at the property. The investigation later led police to the suitcase found in Kent.
Who Has Been Charged?
Police have charged two men who were known to Dale Mundell in connection with the case. Joshua Miller, 32, has been charged with murder and preventing a lawful burial, while Jamie Cooper, 27, has been charged with preventing a lawful burial. Both men appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court and remain in police custody.
What Happens Next?
Joshua Miller is scheduled to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on July 15. Both Miller and Cooper are expected to appear again on August 10 for a plea hearing. Detective Inspector Ben Dalloway said the investigation is moving quickly and officers are working to establish exactly what happened. Police said they do not believe there is any wider threat to the public but have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
