The wedding cards for the reception of UP leader Shivpal Yadav’s son that was held in Delhi, were sent out by the estranged SP leader Amar Singh. This has sent political circles abuzz about a possible reunion between the well connected Amar Singh and his erstwhile friends from the cow belt.
CABINET RESHUFFLE
Once again political Delhi is abuzz with rumours of a reshuffle slated soon after the Assembly elections. However, whether this will be a big shakedown is anybody’s guess, because the Big 4 will not be shifted and neither is the Prime Minister planning to promote too many Ministers of State to Cabinet rank. He has been holding regular interactions with them and few seem to have made a mark. So even if it happens, will the reshuffle be worth all the fuss and the speculation?
TRUMPED BY PANAMA
Will the Panama Pandora’s box be an impediment in the plans to nominate Amitabh Bachchan as President of India next year after President Pranab Mukherjee’s term finishes? That seems to be the buzz in Lutyens’ Delhi, for the NDA government has a cordial rapport with Senior Bachchan. And there is no denying his candidature won’t go down well with the Congress. Other names for Rashtrapati Bhawan doing the rounds are Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan and perhaps President Pranab Mukherjee himself could get a second term for he has a cordial rapport cutting across party lines.
