NEW DELHI

Delhi police have arrested two gangsters associated with the Salman-Tyagi, Naresh-Sethi, and Lawrence Bishnoi gangs. The two had opened fire at Gulati Handloom and Zaika Restraunt at Rajouri Garden. The two have been identified as Deepanshu (21) and Moinuddin (21).

Special CP Crime Ravindra Singh Yadav, in his media statement, said they fired in order to create panic among these two business establishments so that they pay them a ransom amount of Rs 50 lakh each. They were both working on the instructions of Salman Tyagi, who is behind bars in cases of murder and extortion and was involved in the murder of businessman Ajay Choudhary. He was previously associated with the Neeraj Bawana gang but switched sides for personal reasons. Both were in touch with him through the Signal app. They used to regularly meet him in Mandoli jail. In one of these meetings, he instructed them on the plan to frighten the businessman so that they could extort money.

According to the plan, Salman was to call both the owners with an international number and ask for the ransom amount. Both accused, as per plan, went to open fire near the restaurant and handloom. They fired many rounds. Based on the complaint, the police were able to identify the accused through CCTV cameras, and an input was received that both accused would come near Mayapuri Metro Station to meet someone. The police arrested them at the Mayapuri Metro station. During interrogation, they revealed their association with Salman Tyagi. The police have recovered one scooter involved in a crime, two semi-automatic pistols, 5 cartridges, and one mobile phone.
