Mahesh Lunch Home is a pioneer in serving authentic Mangolorean seafood, and in the past few years  the place has become one of the  most frequented restaurants by seafood lovers in Mumbai. Being the very first restaurant in Mumbai to serve Mangalorean food, the restaurant was started in the late ’70s, serving only a few dishes out of which surmai curry was one of the all-time popular dishes which their customers remember till now. To carry on this legacy of excellence, they have  now come up with multiple branches in India as well as internationally.

The restaurant in Juhu offers a relaxing evening away from the bustle and noise of the city. With its subtle ambience, good food and light music in the background, the place makes for a perfect outing with your loved ones. The dishes are prepared with fresh ingredients and it is the  unique combination of spices that makes the food here stand out.  This year, the restaurant came up with a new edition of the Crab and Wine Festival, which was an exquisite treat to the taste buds, especially for crab lovers.

Mahesh Lunch Home, across all its branches, has been hosting the Crab and Wine Festival for 12 years now. The seafood chain had  introduced almost 35 new dishes made of crabs from various coasts around the world along with an exquisite cellar of wines. One could taste the flavorsome array of seafood delicacies globally at their seafood festival.

To begin with, the ambience was on point. Moving on to food, I started my evening by indulging my craving for crab butter corn soup and Sri Lankan crab tandoori. The crab butter corn soup was creamy and juicy  in the right proportion. SriLankan Crab Tandoori, on the other hand, was crispy outside and juicy inside. The presentation of the starters made the delicacies irrestible and  was a treat to even to the eyes .

Next on my platter was Honey Mustard Crab, Thai Crab and Crab Taka Tak. The Honey mustard crab had the perfect blend of sour and sweet flavour of mustard and honey.

Thai crab with a nice blend of spices was the star on the platter. Crab Taka Tak also added variety to my plate. I completed my meal with mountain crab, tender coconut crab masala, and  kitam bungkus which as the chef pointed out  were thoroughly researched and intelligently included in the menu. All the three dishes were sumptuous and melted inside.
