NewsRSS initiates drive to invite Delhi residents to Ayodhya

RSS and Delhi BJP have launched a door-to-door drive to distribute invitations across Delhi.

The RSS and Delhi’s BJP unit have initiated a door-to-door drive to distribute invitations across Delhi residences for the upcoming consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, aiming to reach as many households as they can.

RSS has launched this door-to-door campaign across the country. A member from the RSS who is part of the campaigns said that “a nationwide door-to-door campaign was launched by the RSS, the BJP, and other related organisations to distribute invitations to the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.” Besides the invitation, a picture of Lord Ram will be presented to every household, the source added.

He further said that all the Sangh Parivar organisations are taking part in the campaign that will last until January 15, and the volunteers have been asked not to carry flags or any other paraphernalia that will identify their organisations. “This is beyond politics. We do not want to gain popularity for the organisations from this.”

Rahul, a resident of Malviya Nagar, told The Sunday Guardian that a “few members of the RSS had come to his house and gave him a picture of Lord Ram along with Akshatra.” He added that they told him to at least light one dia (lamp) on the day of the consecration ceremony and visit the nearest temple to see the live telecast of the consecration ceremony.

Vishal Roy, a resident of Hauz Khas, said that they had received an invitation along with Akashtra and an image of Lord Ram. “You are requested to come to Ayodhya along with your family at your convenience after the day of consecration to Lord Ram Lalla and the newly constructed temple and get the blessings of Lord Ram,” Vishal added. The newly built Ram temple in Ayodhya will be opened for devotees after the consecration of the idol of Ram Lalla (‘pran pratishtha’ ) on January 22. However, the Delhi unit of the BJP will celebrate the same day as ‘Ram Utsav’. “The party will celebrate January 22, 2024, as ‘Ram Utsav’, said BJP Delhi Chief Virendra Sachdeva.

An internal party source said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to attend the consecration ceremony of Lord Ram in the Ram Temple at Ayodhya, which is slated to be held on January 22, 2024.

According to Champat Rai, the secretary of Shri Ram Janambhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the puja for the ‘pran pratishtha would start on January 16, 2024, and the actual ‘muhrat’ would be around noon on January 22, 2024, when the ‘pran prathisthan’ ceremony would be performed. He added that after the actual event, puja would continue for another 48 days.
