After BJP held a party core group meeting on Thursday to discuss the strategy for the coming Lok Sabha elections in J&K, former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah said on Friday the talks were on for the seat sharing in J&K with other parties of INDIA bloc.
Sources said that Congress is all set to get two parliamentary seats of Jammu during the talks while National Conference has conveyed that they cannot give them Anantnag parliamentary segment of Kashmir as they have already won it in previous elections. BJP during its core group meeting at Jammu has decided to set up a committee for the start of party programmes in every village of Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to reporters UT BJP Chief Ravinder Raina said that some political parties like National Conference were trying to polarise the situation for dirty politics.
He said that BJP will start working on the ground for the coming parliamentary elections and the final shape to the programmes would be given soon.
The core group meeting of BJP in Jammu and Kashmir was chaired by Ravinder Raina national general secretary and incharge J&K and Ladakh UTs, Tarun Chugh, Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh, party co incharge J&K, Ashish Sood and national secretary, Dr Narinder Singh also participated in the meeting.
Raina further said that the workers of BJP will go door to door for awareness campaigns and will try to increase the vote share of the party.
A BJP’s official handout from Jammu said, “Party said that time has come for people of Jammu and Kashmir to come out of dividing politics of NC, PDP and Congress which has misled and politically blackmailed people of the UT for their political gains. Time for people to stand with Narendra Modi and Bhartiya Janata Party and be part of the national movement of development and well being”.
In UT of Jammu and Kashmir all mainstream political parties including NC, PDP and Congress have become active on the ground and are holding party meetings with workers ahead of parliamentary elections.
National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Friday said that they have no issues with the INDIA bloc over seat sharing and there is no delay in the talks.
He claimed that all the alliance partners are already in the talks for the seat sharing and all the differences would be ironed out.
All said and done, political activities have increased in the entire UT of Jammu and Kashmir as the INDIA bloc is trying to give a tough fight to BJP in Jammu region.
