The nails tell a tale
A senior leader in an election-bound state was seen with untrimmed fingernails until recently, giving the impression that he had stopped meeting people and shaking hands with the public. Later he had also said that he wouldn’t contest the state elections and that he was unwilling to take up a ministerial berth if the party he belonged to won the election, leading everyone to wonder if he was going into political hibernation. However, according to sources, the real reason was that the leader had lost interest in the elections and had become lazy—which should explain the untrimmed nails—since he thought politicking too early may not reap him the consequential benefits. However, with elections being announced, he has since become active and sources say that he has stepped up and surprised everyone with a U-turn by planning to contest the elections. Sources say that he might take another U-turn and take up a ministerial post if the party he is in gets a majority.
