NewsPM Modi calls Congress ‘deceitful’ in Haryana rally

PM Modi accused Congress of divisive politics in Haryana, citing inflammatory remarks by MLA Maman Khan, before gaining power.

Chandigarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party during his campaign for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections, accusing the party of misleading the public and fostering internal divisions. Speaking at a rally in Hisar, Modi labeled Congress as the “most deceitful party” and claimed that its governance failures were evident in states like Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, where Congress had allegedly not delivered on its promises. He highlighted how the people of these states are now questioning the party’s leadership over unfulfilled commitments.

Modi also addressed the issue of communal politics, accusing Congress of engaging in divisive strategies in Haryana and other regions. Referring to a controversial incident involving Congress MLA Maman Khan, he suggested that Congress leaders are already making inflammatory statements even before assuming power.
The Prime Minister’s speech touched on Congress’s alleged neglect of marginalized communities, including Dalits and farmers. He pointed out that during the previous Congress government in Haryana, farmers had received compensations as low as two rupees for crop damages, contrasting it with the BJP’s direct financial support through schemes like the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.

Modi further emphasized that the internal power struggles within Congress, particularly between senior leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his son Deepender Hooda, indicate a lack of stability in the party. He added that such infighting makes Congress unfit to govern Haryana.
The Prime Minister also brought up national security issues, criticizing Congress for questioning the 2016 surgical strikes and for undermining the Indian military. Modi reminded the audience of Congress leaders who had once disparaged India’s army by using derogatory terms, which he linked to the party’s distrust of India’s defense forces.

With the Haryana polls scheduled for October 5, Modi expressed confidence that the BJP would secure a third consecutive term, underscoring the party’s focus on development and stability in the state.
