Former CM Bhupinder Hooda expressed optimism, stating that a strong wave favours Congress due to BJP’s failures, including corruption and non-performance.
Chandigarh: In the Exit Polls , multiple pollsters predict a clear victory for the Congress party. Most of the exit polls forecasted that the Congress was getting majority with 50 to 65 seats for Congress. However, Haryana chief minister Nayab Saini has expressed confidence that the BJP will create a history by forming government for the third consecutive term in Haryana.
“We are confident that the BJP will secure a full majority and form the government again on October 8. Over the last 10 years, we have worked for every section of society, freeing the state from regionalism and dynastic politics,” the CM said, responding to the exit poll predictions.
Meanwhile, former Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Hooda remained optimistic: “From the start of our campaign, I have said there is a strong wave in favor of Congress. We will form the government with a thumping majority. Our past achievements from 2005-2014 and the failure of the BJP government from 2014-2024—marked by corruption and non-performance—are the key factors.”
Reacting to the exit polls favoring Congress, BJP state president Mohanlal Baroli commented, “Exit polls may say what they want, but the BJP will form the government for a third time with a majority. Bhupinder Hooda will be happy for two days, but after that, it will be a government led by Nayab Singh Saini.”
BJP candidate Anil Vij from the Ambala Cantt constituency, staked claims for the CM’s post during the polling and told the reporters that he will meet them at the CM Residence. He dismissed the exit polls, saying, “Exit polls have been proven wrong before. Voting is still ongoing, and people are still standing in line. The total voter turnout hasn’t been calculated yet. On October 8, the BJP will form the government, and the exit polls will be proven wrong once again.”
In terms of vote share, the exit polls suggest that the BJP garnered 37%, Congress 44%, JJP 4%, and others 15%. Another survey by Republic P-Mark predicts a similar trend, with BJP possibly winning 27 to 37 seats, Congress 51 to 61 seats, and other parties getting three to six seats.
According to Just TIF Research, Congress is also forecasted to return to power, potentially winning 45 to 53 seats, with BJP expected to take 29 to 37 seats.
