Haryana CM meets PM Modi, discusses development

NewsHaryana CM meets PM Modi, discusses development

The chief minister discussed key projects with PM Modi, including Gurugram metro expansion and extending the RRTS from Sarai Kale Khan to Karnal.

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss various developmental projects and schemes aimed at accelerating the state’s growth. The chief minister expressed confidence that under the leadership of the PM Modi, the “double-engine government” of the Centre and Haryana would usher the state into a new era of progress.
Speaking to the media after his meeting with the Prime Minister, Saini said, “Together, we will propel Haryana to new heights of development. Our goal is to create a ‘Nonstop Haryana – A Growing Haryana.’” His media advisor, Rajeev Jetley, was also present during the interaction.
The chief minister highlighted that the discussions with PM Modi covered crucial infrastructure projects. These include the expansion of the metro rail network in Gurugram and the extension of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) from Sarai Kale Khan in New Delhi to Panipat, further stretching it to Karnal.
“Our goal is to enhance Haryana’s road connectivity, which will ease traffic congestion and ensure smoother, more efficient travel for citizens,” Saini said. He also shared that his meetings with Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Hardeep Singh Puri in recent days led to the approval of several projects to boost urban development and road infrastructure in the state.
On the topic of women’s empowerment, Saini praised the union government’s efforts, saying, “Prime Minister Modi launched the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign from Panipat, and over the past decade, his government has consistently worked to empower women.”
He lauded the recent passage of the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan’ bill, adding that it will increase women’s participation in legislative bodies and contribute to the country’s progress.
“With initiatives like self-help groups and schemes such as ‘Drone Didi,’ the double-engine government is committed to equipping women with new skills,” he said.
Addressing questions on paddy procurement, Saini confirmed that directives have been issued to officials to ensure the purchase of paddy with up to 17% moisture content.
“Every grain will be bought, and strict action will be taken against any official found neglecting their duties,” he warned.
Responding to questions about the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) ongoing membership campaign, Saini said that party president JP Nadda had set a target for each MLA to enroll 20,000 members, while MPs were expected to add 30,000 members.
“Every BJP worker is committed to advancing this campaign,” the Chief Minister noted.
Commenting on the internal conflicts within the Congress, Saini remarked, “The Congress is grappling with infighting and has failed to appoint a Leader of Opposition.” He criticised the party and the I.N.D.I.A bloc for spreading misinformation.
“While the Prime Minister’s Ayushman Bharat scheme benefits all citizens without discrimination, the opposition continues to nitpick,” Saini said.
“The people of the state and the country have rejected Congress,” he concluded, expressing confidence that the BJP’s initiatives would ensure continued progress and development in Haryana.
