From its self-effacing beginning to modernised appearance, the FNB (Food and Beverage) industry has witnessed countless transformations in the last few decades but there is no denying the fact that north Indian cuisine continues to dominate the market with its strong flavours and diversity. Celebrating this richness of north Indian food, Zabardast Indian Kitchen, located in the E-block of Connaught Place, is an ideal spot for a family get-together or for an outing with friends.

The decor at this new eatery is contemporary and pleasant. The elaborate menu marries traditional and contemporary Indian cuisine. The restaurant contains an eclectic collection of items that exude an old-world ambience. It’s a place that arouses curiosity and provides for an interesting dining experience. The menu features the best cuisine from North India and is good value for money.  Zabardast Indian Kitchen makes sure that each dish served on your table leaves a long-lasting taste.

We started our meal with starters—“Afghani Chicken” which was marinated in a rich creamy marinade and was perfectly cooked. The dish had a smokey and rich taste with the right amount of garnishing and was served along with green dip. Next on our platter was restaurant’s signature dish “Bareilly Ki Mutton Seekh” that was cooked with minced mutton that gave a delightful taste.

Next we moved on to try some vegetarian starters. “Paneer Corn Seekh Kebab” was a mystical blend of paneer and corn. The mixture was deep grilled.  Next on our platter was “Soya chaap” which melted inside the mouth and was a delight.

For the main course, we had Zabardast Indian Kitchen’s signature dish “Tari Wala Chicken”. The dish is a  generous portion of chicken cooked in light, home-style onion and tomato gravy and went perfectly with butter naan.

Next came was “Roganjosh” which was a mutton-based dish. The mutton was soft and juicy and emanated great fragrance. We continued our meal with “Dal Makhani” and “Dum Aloo” which was as good as any other dish that we had tasted during the evening.

The menu of the place boosts of dishes created with a variety of innovative recipes and has specials like “Bhatti Da Tandoori chicken”, “Ambarsari Tandoori chicken”, “Frying Pan Lemon chicken”, “Mix Platter”, “Ram Ladoo”, “Tandoori Malai Brocolli”, “Dahi Kebab” among others. From the main course one can opt for “Butter chicken”, “Kadhai chicken” and “Keema Kaleji Gurde”. You can also indulge in delectable sea food that has specials like “Prawns kurkure”, “Fish curry”and “Prawn Masala”.

For the sweet ending of the day we had “Chocolate Brownie Fudge”, which was soft and was nothing short of a chocolate blast inside the mouth. The restaurant that aims to take forward the pure Indian heritage also provides an exclusive eating place for North Indian cuisine lovers.
