HINDUISM: Clear the clogs Part 1

Sacred TextsHINDUISM: Clear the clogs Part 1

If you want good health, deserve good health. If you want peace of mind, deserve peace of mind. To deserve peace one needs to establish oneself firmly in that which is ever peaceful, that which has no ripples, no turbulence ever. Shift your gaze from (Adho Drishti)—a narrow outlook of my community, my family, my child and my house, to (Oordhwa Drishti)—an expansive vision of the all embracing reality. There is nothing you can lose in the world, you don’t own anything. Neither can you bring anything into the world nor can you take or permanently keep anything from it. So your fears of losing things or people is baseless. You create your own insecurity with your mind. Who looked after your nourishment or your growth in your mother’s womb? Understand that some great grand superpower Is in charge. In a movie hall you alone are real, you are the “drishta”, the seer, the “drishya” the movie is unreal, but since your focus is on the unreal you suffer all the pangs, the joys and the sorrows of the unreal. Events “appear” to happen in an unreal world.

When your “Drishti” turns to judging others, concentrate more on what is causing you to feel judgmental. Try to find out what is “hooking” you and gently and lovingly nudge aside what you think is wrong with the “other” person. Then focus on the fact that all your judgement comes from your identification with the judged. Every judgemental or negative thought is an inhibitor to personal transformation. It keeps you clogged up just as cholesterol clogs up an artery. The more clogging there is the more it will keep you away from inner happiness. When you slowly start correcting your own vision , your old habit of judging and destroying other forms, names and reputations will change. You will discover with delight that the world has not changed at all, but that you are a totally new human being discovering the world differently.
