A trip to Agra, for whatever purpose, is incomplete without a visit to the Taj Mahal. The UP Pravasi Diwas ended in the same way. The participating delegates visited the Taj Mahal accompanied by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. The CM took this opportunity to sign two more MoUs with the NRI groups. The first MoU was signed with Uttar Predeshies in Canada (UPICA) to facilitate and extend all possible help to people from U.P. in their effort to obtain jobs and educational opportunities in Canada. This deal will help a large number of students to avail higher education at world-class educational institutions of Canada. Lisa Macleod, a Member of the Provincial parliament in Canada, also visited the Pravasi Diwas on behalf of the large Indian origin population she represents. Macleod stressed on the importance of this unique and dynamic step taken by a farsighted Chief Minister. “We in Canada have a large and highly developed agriculture community. U.P., too, has a large number of farmers, and can benefit a lot with the exchange of information and trade,” she said.

The second was with the Panorama India for working with the Indian diaspora in the all fields like education, conferences, science and technology, philanthropy and art among others for dissemination of information for the benefits of the NRI’s of UP. “Both these deals will help the U.P. NRI community stay connected and make it stronger,” said a delegate.

“With the monument attracting so many people, it is really hard to look at it properly to be able to enjoy its beauty in solitude. I am so glad that I could visit it like this with the Chief Minister when the place has been opened to the NRI delegates,” said another visiting NRI from Fiji.
