Hyundai Motor India has started the year 2024 by posting robust total sales of 67 615 units in January 2024. The company registered highest ever domestic monthly sales with 57 115 units, as against 50,106 units in January 2023, setting the stage for an exciting and dynamic year ahead. Tarun Garg, COO, HMIL points out the highest ever monthly domestic sales with 14 per cent growth over same period last year. The company exported 10,500 units taking up the total sales to 67615 units, an on-year growth of 8.5 per cent. “This strong growth has been fuelled by an overwhelming customer response to the newly launched Hyundai CRETA, which has already garnered close to 50,000 bookings within a month of the booking open announcement,” says Garg. Further, the SUV EXTER continues its amazing run in the market clocking great sales numbers. “Going forward we continue to be cautiously optimistic about the momentum of the auto industry in 2024,” says Garg. Hyundai Motor India also participated at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in a unique interactive pavilion with multiple engagement zones for visitors to showcase Hyundai Motor India’s technologically advanced products & technologies. The pavilion showcased various benchmark products like Hyundai IONIQ 5, new Hyundai CRETA, TUCSON, VERNA. The company also showcased the futuristic Hyundai NEXO, Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle and its unique vehicle-to-load technology. Hyundai also created a special localization zone to showcase the extent of its India operations and usage of parts sourced from Indian original equipment manufacturers for all the visitors.
Tata Motors also exhibited an impressive array of present and future ready vehicles and solutions designed to revolutionise personal mobility, people mobility, and cargo transport at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. On display was India’s 10 most advanced, efficient and eco-friendly commercial vehicles – trucks, buses, tippers and small trucks as well as eight greenest, smartest and most feature loaded PVs – cars, SUVs and EVs. These included the New Nexon i-CNG concept SUV, now with turbocharged twin-cylinder tech and usable boot space, New Safari dark concept, Tata Curvv concept, Altroz Racer concept.
Also displayed were Punch.ev – the first pure electric vehicle built on acti.ev – India’s first advanced Pure EV architecture and Harrier.ev concept, an SUV with all-wheel drive, uncompromised range, and advanced tech features, built on the acti.ev architecture. The company also showcased hydrogen-powered internal combustion engines, twin-cylinder CNG, efficient fuel delivery systems and battery electric powertrains.
Tata Motors’ sales in the domestic and international market for January 2024 stood at 86,125 vehicles, compared to 81,069 units during January 2023. The total passenger vehicle sales at 54,033 units saw a 12 per cent yoy growth.
Domestic sale of MH&ICV in January 2024, including trucks and buses, stood at 14,440 units, compared to 14,716 units in January 2023. The total sales for MH&ICV domestic and international business in January 2024, including trucks and buses, stood at 14,972 units compared to 15,057 units in January 2023.
