Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has set an ambitious target of a 50 per cent global export share for India’s automobile industry as the home stage gets ready to showcase the country’s prowess in the mobility space at “Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024”, from 1-3 February, 2024. Marking a pivotal moment in India’s rapidly growing mobility sector, the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 is expected to unleash a new era of collaboration and innovation in the mobility sector at the state-of-the-art and world-class destination Bharat Mandapam.
The industry led and government supported initiative being coordinated by the Engineering Export Promotion Council India (EEPC India), Bharat Mobility Global Expo comes at a crucial juncture of India’s expanding presence in the global automobile market and is a strategic whole-of-government approach to encourage industry stakeholders to adopt a proactive approach to seize opportunities in the global economy and tap the vast potential of Indian businesses to capture large world markets through the collaborative spirit prevalent across sectors.
This is a key objective keeping in mind the participation of countries such as Japan, Germany, Korea, Taiwan and Thailand, USA, Spain, UAE, Russia, Italy, Turkey, Singapore and Belgium. The Minister who unveiled the logo and booklet for the mega mobility show, wants the auto industry to not limit itself to achieving a 25 per cent export and strive for greater excellence and performance on the global stage.
“The exhibitions aim to present India’s strengths to the global market, position the country as an international player across industries and substantially increase its share in global exports,” Goyal said, addressing the curtain raiser programme of the mega mobility show. With over 600 exhibitors from 50 plus countries, the expo, across 1,00,000 plus sq. meters area, will highlight cutting-edge technologies and breakthroughs in mobility as more than 27 leading vehicle manufacturers get ready to unveil new models and electric vehicles, showcasing the automotive industry’s steadfast commitment to innovation.
The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 is being seen as a testament to India’s engineering excellence and sustainable solutions with cutting-edge technologies display at specialized shows featuring electric and hybrid vehicles, ACMA Automechanika, large-scale tyre exhibition, urban mobility solutions featuring two wheelers/e-bikes, drones, etc.), EV Infra Pavilion featuring charging stations and battery swapping) and Battery Tech Pavilion and other energy sources like hydrogen. Along with vehicle manufacturers, the event will have over 400 auto component manufacturers,1000 plus brands from 13 plus global markets, displaying their entire range of products, technologies, and services, from supplies to OEMs to the aftermarket.
The event will also see a large participation from major international and Indian battery manufacturers and battery supply chain and recycling companies. More than 10 leading companies will also be showcasing EV infrastructure services including charging stations and battery swapping solutions during the event.
