The Scorpio has been a major success story for Mahindra, with over 9.5 lakh vehicles sold since its launch, while the all-New Scorpio-N became the first body-on-frame SUV to secure a 5-star rating in the Global New Car Assessment Programme’s (GNCAP). The company’s overall auto sales for the month of January 2024 stood at 73,944 vehicles, a growth of 15 per cent, including exports. In the utility vehicles segment, Mahindra sold 43,068 vehicles in the domestic market, a growth of 31 per cent and overall, 43,866 vehicles, including exports. The domestic sales for commercial vehicles stood at 23,481.

Also on display was the All-New Thar and the XUV400 EL Pro, which as Mahindra’s first C-Segment all-electric SUV, marks a significant step towards sustainable mobility offering fastest acceleration in the segment, going 0-100 km/h in just 8.3 seconds. On the commercial side, the Supro Profit Truck Excel offers unmatched payload capacity and versatility in diesel and CNG variants. Within a month of its launch, the Treo Plus is now the No.1 electric 3-wheeler in the L5M category. The company also displayed for the first time, the BE.RALL-E, a radical electric SUV with futuristic technology of Mahindra’s next generation of SUVs and Flex Fuel Vehicle (FFV) technology, designed for higher ethanol content fuels. Force Motors, largest manufacturer of vans in the country showcased its manufacturing excellence through the presentation of three important vehicles — the Traveller Electric, Urbania Diesel, and Traveller CNG. The state-of-the-art Traveller Electric takes the lead in addressing last-mile connectivity challenges, while the Urbania Diesel and Traveller CNG provide efficient urban commuting options. “Our urban mobility solutions can play a vital role in decongesting roads through efficient mobility solutions and we are looking forward to offering our solutions to major urban centres where they can symbiotically enhance the connectivity from public transportation points,” says Prasan Firodia, Managing Director.

Honda’s group of companies in India, comprising Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), Honda Power Pack Energy India (HEID), Honda Cars India (HCIL) and Honda India Power Products (HIPP) also demonstrated its commitment to innovation and cutting-edge technology. On display was Honda’s first flex fuel two-wheeler for India, a revolutionary two-motor hybrid technology, Honda Sensing Technology-Intelligent ADAS technology and e: swap battery technology. At the heart of the Honda stall was HMSI’s first flex-fuel powered motorcycle developed specially for the Indian market, in line with the Government’s direction to explore alternate fuels while expanding the mobility eco-system. The model displayed utilises a blend of gasoline and ethanol. The flex-fuel powered motorcycle will be powered by a 293.52cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine compliant with up to E85 fuel (85 per cent ethanol and 15 per cent gasoline.

Attron Automotive, a startup in the electric vehicle (EV) industry with its cutting-edge motors and controllers, unveiled their new set of products at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024. The company has showcased three alpha series motors and one advanced controller designed to enable faster, more efficient, and higher-performance EVs. Attron Automotive raised Rs 4.75 crore in its maiden funding round led by Anicut Capital. The new products are RM14530 electric motor, RM16070 electric motor, RM16045 electric motor series and the CTR072500 electric motor controller.

“This launch marks a significant stride in electric mobility, as our innovative motor architecture, precision engineering and commitment to cost reduction redefine industry standards,” said Shubham Pode, CTO of Attron Automotive. The unique interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPM PMSM) technology helps achieve an outstanding peak efficiency surpassing 97 per cent. With the Indian auto component aftermarket business expected to reach USD 14 billion by 2028, the 5th edition of the ACMA Automechanika was also organised at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Regarded as one of the most influential events for auto component aftermarket sector in India and across the world for wholesalers, distributors, traders of parts and components, professionals from car repair shops, garage and service stations and fleet management, ACMA Automechanika provides the platform to domestic component manufacturers to showcase their offering at a global scale. It also serves to create new business opportunities and procure genuine auto parts and components from the world’s leading suppliers and manufacturers. The event saw 500 plus exhibitors from India and other 12 countries to the expo.
