Season’s greetings: A new dawn in the age of fashion

Prarena Grover

“The Mythical Moors” is a new winter collection launched by designer Prarena Grover. The line is inspired by the wild, whimsical and dramatic legends of the old forest. The collection is made with the intricacy of Indian embroidery techniques that incorporate trees and various elements found in the forest. The Mythical Moors is inspired by wild flowers and in choosing the colour palate of the collection a range of bright colours have been used throughout the collection. The collection has a sense of darkness to it to show the diverse sides of a forest.

Dharna Hassija

The highlights of the line include sharp silhouettes on velvet having cutting designs on high-end fabric for jewel-tone formalwear, feminine dresses with ribbons and bows on button-downs, shirts, dresses, tops, shoes and bags. Victorian collars that dominate both the luxury and high street arenas is also a part of Hassija’s winter collection. Embellished cocktail wear and structured daywear dresses are another take away from the collection.

Shades of India launched their new fall winter collection recently. The collection is all about coats and jackets. Its most coveted design is the long Dali coat in black velvet with a burgundy lining. It invokes a language of style, elegance and luxury. The short Kalo jacket in gold is fitted at the shoulder and embroidered all over. The lining is in a deep red silk and textured with cutwork. The elegant short Philo jacket has a classic overlap collar. Beautiful floral cutwork in habotai silk has been patched on matka silk.
