New Delhi: A 21-member delegation from 10 countries visited various Akhadas in the Sangam region on Thursday during the ongoing Mahakumbh and participated in the holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. The visitors gained a deeper understanding of the religious significance of the Kumbh Mela while experiencing the vibrant elements of Indian culture.
After their sacred dip, the delegation toured the vast Mahakumbh area, marveling at the immense scale and meticulous organization of the event. They commended the Uttar Pradesh government for the exemplary arrangements made for the world’s largest religious gathering. The delegates highlighted that the Mahakumbh conveys a powerful message of unity to the world and encouraged people globally to visit Mahakumbh Nagar to witness and appreciate Indian culture.
Sally Al Azab, a delegate from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), described her visit from the Middle East to India as a remarkable experience. She praised the Kumbh Mela, calling it the world’s largest religious gathering, and admired its seamless organization. She emphasized that the event spreads a message of unity not only within India but also globally. Witnessing the massive crowds of devotees and the robust security arrangements, she expressed her deep admiration for Indian culture.
During their visit, the delegation toured the Akhadas, interacted with saints, and learned about the historical, religious, and cultural significance of the event. The saints shared insights into the ancient traditions of the Kumbh, the role of Akhadas, and the glory of Indian culture. The delegates were deeply impressed by these teachings and expressed their appreciation for India’s rich religious traditions.
This visit showcased the harmony between people of different cultural backgrounds, with representatives from Fiji, Finland, Guyana, Malaysia, Mauritius, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, and the UAE.
The international representatives were profoundly moved by the diversity and unity in Indian culture. For them, the visit was not just a spiritual experience but also an invaluable opportunity to witness and connect with India’s historical and cultural heritage.
