French food beyond French fries at Cravity

Cravity

A-15A/1, Hauz Khas, New Delhi

Meal for two: Rs 350

A space created with ingenuity and passion, Cravity—a French patisserie is the newest and the trendiest café located in the heart of South Delhi.

Exquisite French flavours and artistic interiors, all presented with finesse and delicacy makes Cravity an extremely unique offering— one that Delhi has not seen before. Serving food and exclusive French dessert, Cravity has already successfully established its innovative entity with the quaint charm and an appeal of the perfect little neighbourhood café!

Chef Sahil, the man who has an ardent fan following aims at delivering the very best of flavours at Cravity. He says, “Passion is our main ingredient at Cravity.”

A pink door with a bright façade, which can be spotted from a mile away, with soothing pastel tones, pop art posters, and a wall with a huge painting of two women sitting on a park bench in front of Eiffel Tower gives you a genuinely warm and friendly ambience that defines the soul of the café. A cute little place around with 5-6 tables, which reflects a small space somewhere in Paris, brings you a feel of being in Paris with Cravity.

Let’s start with the foodie affair. I started with the lip smacking shakes which came in mason jars. I ordered Crazy Chocolate Milkshake and Brownie and Nutella Milkshake which was delicious.  After having luscious drinks, I ordered some finger licking Ten Spice Chicken Wings which actually had a unique flavour topped with the lovely Parmesan cheese and they were properly baked.

Barbecue Chicken Pizza was again a big delight.  A big size pizza with thin crust and lots of mozzarella cheese and the lovely amount of chicken chunks, became one of the star dishes for me.

Next thing to come on my plate was Khao Suey, I personally didn’t like it much but the presentation was fascinating. They served crispy noodles with bean curd and some browned onion and garlic. To add a tinch of tangy flavour, they gave lemon grass and wedges to add into the mixture. Also, some red chilies to add spice to your taste buds.

Al Fungi Pasta, which was white sauce penne pasta with garlic breads was quite ordinary. Then I chose to order some healthy food. The Bowl Meal which they served with chicken Thai green curry and steamed rice was a bit disappointing as it did not taste according to my expectations.

For the deserts, the best part of the night was when I ordered the Prince of Chocolate, which was recommended by one of the staff. Well, it was delicious with the decadent taste of chocolate ganache and hazelnut cream. Next in the line was Blueberry cheesecake which was delectable and I was drooling high on it.

I ended with Mango Me—a pastry made out of mango, a toothsome treat for this foodie night.
