Fear triggers migration from border villages of Jammu

NewsFear triggers migration from border villages of Jammu

The deaths of three civilians, including two women, in R.S. Pura sector due to incessant shelling by Pakistani forces have compelled people from dozens of villages to migrate to safer places, as they feel the government was doing very little to protect them. R.S. Pora, Samba and Kathua border areas have witnessed an increase in shelling by the Pakistani Rangers in recent weeks and the villagers feel ignored by the Centre. “We were told by Union Minister Jatindra Singh that the government will give us plots within three months. Nine months have passed but we have not got anything,” said a resident of R.S. Pora.
