60 foreign terrorists have entered Kashmir

Around 60 foreign terrorists belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Tayyaba have entered Kashmir in the last two months. According to intelligence inputs, these terrorists have entered the valley in 12 batches, the process of which had begun in the last week of September.  They have managed to enter the valley right before the onset of winter, after which it gets difficult to cross over to India from Pakistan.

Intelligence agencies tracking these two terror outfits have warned the security forces of attacks on critical infrastructure and key military establishments.

These terrorists have been instructed to carry out fidayeen (suicide) attacks and are expected to complete their mission within two to three months.

Since more than 200 militants belonging to Jaish and Lashkar have been killed by the security forces this year, the groups are now shifting their reliance from local youths to foreign terrorists, sources in the intelligence agencies said.

“They feel that reliance on local youths is not helping them as these local youths are not ‘strong’ and are easily identified by the security forces. Recent incidents of youths coming back to their families after joining these terrorist groups have also unnerved them and now they have tasked the responsibility to carry out the operations on foreign recruits,” an official said.

As per intelligence inputs, these 60 terrorists, were “staying” at the launchpads in Domel and Tejian in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK ) before they entered India.

“They are moving in and around Kupwara, Machil, Uri, Nowgam, Keran, and Bandipora region. Some of them even forcibly entered a marriage function to take part in the feast, but were not ‘welcomed’. Jaish and Lashkar, supervised by the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), have become desperate as they have not been able to carry out any high-profile attacks in recent months, and are under a lot of pressure to do something. The release of Hafiz Saeed has come as a big morale boost for the Lashkar cadre and we are expecting that Saeed will be visiting PoK soon,” the official said.
