J&K HC pulls up centre for silence on flood relief

NewsJ&K HC pulls up centre for silence on flood relief
Jammu and Kashmir High Court has shown displeasure over the apparent silence of the Union Government on the issue of sending relief package to the flood victims of the state.
The Division Bench of Chief Justice N. Paul Vasantha Kumar and Justice Hasnian Masoodi has asked the Centre to make its stand known on the additional relief package of Rs 44,000 crore sought by the state government for the rehabilitation of flood victims.
The jury observed that the Centre was dealing with such an important issue in a “lifeless manner” and asked the government to show compassion to the victims.
The HC further said that strong measures should be taken to rehabilitate people as winter is about to set in.
